Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Tortuga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Montross! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tortuga slips a jab and a cross from Montross.
A combination from Montross does no damage. Montross fails with the takedown and Tortuga counters with a shoot takedown. Montross fights it but they end up in guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Montross is looking for a triangle but Tortuga pushes his legs off easily.
Tortuga stays in close to Montross's body and controls the position. Tortuga gets to his feet - Montross follows without any prompting. Montross throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tortuga drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tortuga looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Tortuga. Montross is letting Tortuga control him for a moment. Tortuga wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Montross, who protects the arm well. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Tortuga's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tommy Tortuga. Montross fails in his attempt to clinch. Tortuga tries to clinch but Montross is having none of it. Tortuga has Montross up against the cage in a clinch.
Montross looking for a takedown. Tortuga looking for a takedown. Montross throws a head punch that misses. Tortuga is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tortuga stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Tortuga seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Tortuga prevents Montross from breaking the clinch. Tortuga has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Montross avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Tortuga breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Montross doesn't succeed with the takedown and Tortuga counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tommy Tortuga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Montross. Montross looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tortuga stays in close to Montross's body and controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Montross throws a series of punches but Tortuga avoids them all with ease. Montross fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Montross gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Tortuga to score an easy takedown into full guard. Tortuga controlling from the top position. Montross is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tortuga decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Montross, up you get! Montross misses with a takedown attempt and Tortuga counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Tortuga is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Montross is defending well. Tortuga drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Montross gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Tortuga has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Montross clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Montross is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Tortuga.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Tortuga here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montross is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tortuga has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Montross! Can he survive? No! He's out! Tortuga gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Slay has chosen Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

16 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Cassius Slay! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avila throws a low kick but Slay moves out of range easily. Slay works the jab nicely. Slay throws a body punch but Avila moves out of range. Cassius Slay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Slay throws a body punch but Avila moves out of range. Avila misses the shot to the body. Avila connects with a solid leg kick. Avila feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Slay's calf. Sloppy strikes from Slay. Those never looked like landing. Avila will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Avila dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Slay. That did some damage! Slay keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Avila blocks a jab. Avila lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Slay backs up against the cage.

Crunch! Avila slams his shin into Slay's torso. Avila fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Slay. Avila cracks the inside of Slay's front leg. Avila finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Avila throws a head kick that misses. A kick lands to the mid section there for Avila. Avila shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Slay napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Slay managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Avila.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slay looking for a sweep but Avila has passed into full mount! Oh no! Slay is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Slay is working to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avila lands with some strikes. Slay is wriggling around trying to escape.
Avila wants to control the pace but Slay is squirming around nicely. Slay tries to lock up and control but Avila gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slay tries to get back to half guard but can't. Avila landing punches. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Avila wants to control the pace but Slay is squirming around nicely. Avila throws a leg kick but Slay checks it. Slay's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Slay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Slay throws a hook to the side of Avila's head but Avila sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Slay throws out a loose jab but Avila uses good head movement to avoid it. Avila thumps Slay with a low kick. Slay takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Avila shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Avila showed some decent athleticism there. Slay taking some punishment here, with Avila in his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Avila overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Slay looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Avila looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Slay is fending him off so far but Avila persists. Nope, Slay circles away and we're back to standing. No, Cuschenko has managed to get both his arms back between Scofield's legs - danger averted. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee misses with an uppercut. Sheehan saw that one coming. Sheehan shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Lee, as that shot connected.
Sheehan dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on Sheehan's head and hops out. Lee throws a hook but Sheehan blocks it. Sheehan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Lee misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sheehan.
Sheehan throws a combination. Lee tries to block but a couple of punches get through. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sheehan.
