The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frido looks to land a combination but Hoppus avoids it well.
Frido tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hoppus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Frido looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Frido gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hoppus to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hoppus drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hoppus jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Frido throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Frido is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hoppus dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Frido tries to bench press Hoppus off him but Hoppus keeps the position.
Hoppus has an Americana. Frido didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hoppus is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hoppus hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
