The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Malapitan.
Malapitan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rivera but Rivera pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Angel Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raje Malapitan.
Malapitan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Horrible takedown by Malapitan or perhaps it was just good defense by Rivera which made him look bad.

Malapitan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rivera did well to prevent Malapitan getting side control.

Malapitan maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Rivera could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Malapitan has cracked it and Rivera is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Malapitan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton dives in and grabs Geissen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Geissen pushes down on Newton's head and hops out.
Newton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Geissen to score with a decent uppercut.
Geissen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Newton fails to land the takedown.
Newton moves out of range as Geissen strikes.
Newton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jam Newton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A jab from Geissen finds it's way through Newton's defenses.
Geissen throws a poor cross that misses

and Newton counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Newton.
Geissen is trying to force a seperation but Newton has the dominant position.
Geissen looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Geissen is pressed up against the cage. Newton has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Geissen down to the mat. Geissen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Geissen cracks Newton with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Geissen has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Newton to stand back up!

It looks like Jam Newton has been cut.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Geissen engages and cracks Newton with a massive lead left hook - Newton tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Geissen is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Thacker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Thacker misses with the ground and pound.
Pan managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Thacker.
Pan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thacker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Thacker just content to control the position.
Thacker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Pan is looking to reverse the position.

Pan parries the strikes from Thacker easily there. Thacker is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pan to escape.
Thacker takes a little break here. Pan wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Thacker thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Thacker postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Pan is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Thacker has just dragged him back down to the mat.

and Davidson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Davidson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Davidson shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Clavet eats them both and turns towards Davidson to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
