Exterberra takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dante Exterberra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Israel looks to throw the jab but Exterberra is out of range.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gibbs.
Gibbs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gibbs wants it to stay on the feet.
Santos shoots in looking for a takedown but Gibbs manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Santos's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Santos misses with a right hand

and Gibbs counters with a shoot takedown. Santos fights it but they end up in guard.
Gibbs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gibbs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gibbs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Gibbs throws a big elbow that misses.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gibbs is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Santos dives in and scores a takedown into Gibbs's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gibbs isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Santos stacks Gibbs on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Santos!

Heleknus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Heleknus knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moss on the ground.
Moss wants to control from the top but Heleknus keeps moving.
Moss throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Heleknus wants to sweep but no luck.
Moss content to stall in guard here.

Moss decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Heleknus, up you get!

Moss closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Heleknus did well to prevent Moss getting side control.

Some wild striking there from Griggs.
Griggs pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Griggs fails with a takedown attempt.

Griggs shoots in and gets a takedown into Gotts's guard.
Gotts keeping moving, preventing Griggs from controlling successfully.
Griggs throws an elbow that misses. Gotts uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Griggs's guard. Nice move by Gotts!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griggs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gotts doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gotts manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Griggs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Gotts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Griggs on the ground.
Griggs postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Gotts badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Griggs around the waist but Griggs pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Griggs is the winner by TKO! Griggs jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Post fight, Deacon Griggs stared into the camera and said 'I am glad that I was able to pick up the win. I think I was a little overwhelmed in my last fight, but this Deacon Griggs is the one that MLC fans should expect every time.'.

What a showman! Albert Kelly told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Kelly misses the shot to the body.
