Hayes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by A Regular Day at the Office. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freitas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hayes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Acelino Freitas has been cut.
Hayes with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Freitas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hayes.
Hayes slips a jab and a cross from Freitas.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hayes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Freitas is breathing heavily.
Hayes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Freitas tries to clinch but Hayes moves out of range.
Freitas misses with a double jab.
Freitas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hayes circles away quickly and effectively.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hayes. Freitas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Freitas dodges the punch combination from Hayes.
Hayes listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Hayes jabs Freitas right on the nose. Freitas blinks but takes it well.

Freitas is rocked!
Freitas shoots for a double leg takedown but Hayes sprawls well. He's pushed Freitas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hayes lands a right hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hayes lands a big uppercut and Freitas crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Freitas looks OK. Hayes waves Freitas back to his feet!
Oh Freitas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hayes ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Freitas's jaw. Freitas's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Hayes does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Khalid Hayes!
Khalid Hayes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Magtanggol lands with an overhand left.

Magtanggol moves into range and clinches up with Williams.

Magtanggol manages to break the clinch.

Magtanggol shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Williams wants to control but Magtanggol is having none of it.
Magtanggol thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Magtanggol lands with some strikes.
Williams wants to control but Magtanggol is having none of it.
Magtanggol fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

It looks like Jared Williams has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams is in a horrible position here. Magtanggol smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Poor strikes thrown by Magtanggol there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Williams is trying desperately to improve position.
Magtanggol with shots to the head and body - Williams looks very uncomfortable down there.

That has opened up Jared Williams's cut even more.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jared Williams's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jared Williams's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Alves doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cheadle counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard.
Cheadle advances position into side control!

Cheadle working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cheadle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Alves is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Alves tries to improve position but can't.
Cheadle controls the position from side control.
Alves manages to get back to half guard.

Cheadle wants to pass the guard but Alves is defending well.
Alves has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cheadle is working away from the top position though.

Alves is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cheadle pulls his head out easily.

Alves tries to get to full guard but Cheadle has control of the leg.

Cheadle escapes and gets back to his feet.

Cheadle closes the distance and pushes Alves back into the cage.

Cheadle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Cheadle gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cheadle content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Alves has locked up a guillotine! Alves's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Cheadle is holding on here and Alves must be using up a lot of energy. Cheadle has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Alves gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
