The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oyama ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Kenzie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Oyama, pushing him back against the ropes.

Kenzie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oyama shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kenzie napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kenzie can't do much from the bottom here.
Kenzie is looking to reverse the position.
Oyama slows the pace down.
Kenzie takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Oyama will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bravado feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Groot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Groot, as that shot connected.
