Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Glutamine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamil Kanakri! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glutamine darts in trying to clinch and Kanakri counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Glutamine closes the distance but Kanakri moves to the side and Kanakri counters with a shoot takedown. Glutamine fights it but they end up in guard. Glutamine is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kanakri wants to pass the guard but Glutamine is keeping the position. Glutamine is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Glutamine not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Glutamine working Kanakri over with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanakri makes his way to full guard, as Glutamine worked for a kimura.
Kanakri utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Glutamine drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kanakri looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kanakri looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kanakri! Glutamine is trying to improve his position. Glutamine manages to get back to half guard. Kanakri throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Glutamine wants to sweep but Kanakri has passed to side control! Glutamine manages to get back to half guard. Kanakri passes into side control, despite Glutamine's attempt to control the position.
Kanakri is putting a hurting on Glutamine here, landing some big shots from side control. Glutamine tries to bench press Kanakri off him but Kanakri keeps the position. Kanakri wants to control but Glutamine is keeping him busy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glutamine tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kanakri wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kanakri trying to control the position but Glutamine is working away. Glutamine tries to improve position but can't. A control attempt from Glutamine but he's now mounted! Glutamine might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Glutamine is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Glutamine is working hard here to advance position. Kanakri looking to control and managing it successfully. Glutamine is looking to get to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gary Glutamine will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kanakri shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Glutamine as he jumps to the side. Kanakri misses with a takedown and Glutamine counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kanakri looks like he's trying to stand up.
Glutamine seems to be looking for submissions.
Glutamine is trying to control the action in half guard but Kanakri is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Glutamine missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Glutamine wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kanakri keeps working. Kanakri is defending against the submission attempts here by Glutamine.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glutamine looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kanakri with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Glutamine seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kanakri does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Glutamine takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glutamine is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kanakri defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glutamine trying to control the action but Kanakri is working from the bottom. Glutamine is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Glutamine looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gary Glutamine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Glutamine frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Glutamine is working for a guillotine from mount but Kanakri frees his head quite easily.
Glutamine goes for an armbar but Kanakri turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Kanakri. Kanakri trying to control the position from guard on top but Glutamine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Glutamine wriggles free and stands up. Glutamine tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kanakri paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kanakri tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Glutamine swivels and escapes. Gary Glutamine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kamil Kanakri. Kanakri is breathing heavily. Kanakri shoots in and drives through. Glutamine sprawls well. Glutamine tries to clinch but Kanakri moves out of range. Glutamine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kanakri swats him away and circles back towards the center. A nice leg kick lands there from Glutamine. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Glutamine fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gary Glutamine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kanakri. Glutamine shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kanakri is trying to defend but Glutamine finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gary Glutamine dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Glutamine wants to clinch. Glutamine tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kanakri swats him away and circles back towards the center. Kanakri closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Glutamine tries to land knees in the clinch but Kanakri avoids the damage to the body. Glutamine has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kanakri uses from the top position. Glutamine bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kanakri's guard. Kanakri utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Glutamine looking to pass the guard. Glutamine advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanakri can't do much from the bottom here. Glutamine tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Glutamine is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kanakri is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kanakri is trying to buck Glutamine off. Kanakri takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Glutamine is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kanakri knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Glutamine goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kanakri rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Glutamine's guard! Nice work there by Kanakri!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kanakri prevents Glutamine from getting back to his feet. Glutamine is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kanakri rolls with it to try and escape but Glutamine cranks on the arm and Kanakri is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duvalier throws a sloppy head kick and Waterson moves out of range easily. Duvalier shoots in but Waterson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Duvalier scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Waterson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Duvalier throws a push kick but Waterson slaps the foot to one side. Waterson rushes Duvalier and presses him up against the cage. A shot in the inside from Waterson.
It looks like Claude Bertrand Duvalier has been cut. Waterson working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Waterson scores with a shot to the side of Duvalier's head. Waterson lands a body shot. A shot in the inside from Waterson. Still in the clinch, Waterson scores with a nice short uppercut. Duvalier leaning against his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Waterson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Waterson tries a body shot but Duvalier blocks it.
Waterson working some nice short punches in the clinch. Waterson gets underhooks to prevent Duvalier's takedown attempt.
Waterson lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Duvalier looks gassed! Duvalier tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Duvalier missing with knees to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Waterson pushes Duvalier back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Waterson lands with a left to the head. Waterson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Duvalier backwards. Waterson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Duvalier backwards. Waterson scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Duvalier is rocked! Waterson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Duvalier is still on wobbly legs! Can Waterson finish him? Waterson lands a big right hand that drops Duvalier! The killer instinct kicks in and Waterson finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Waterson!
