Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Braddock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Widaca! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Braddock tries to close the distance and clinch but Widaca swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Braddock throws a half hearted mid kick. Braddock motions for Widaca to come forward. Braddock throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Braddock shoots in for a takedown but Widaca shows good takedown defense. Widaca fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Braddock manages to avoid it. Widaca dips to his left and cracks Braddock with an uppercut! Widaca throws a hook but Braddock avoids it easily. Braddock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Braddock with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Widaca moves into the clinch. Widaca prevents Braddock from breaking the clinch. Widaca misses with a punch on the inside.
Braddock blocks an uppercut.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Widaca. Widaca can't break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Braddock is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Widaca to keep the fight standing. Braddock is trying to break free. Braddock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Braddock dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Widaca. That did some damage! Widaca lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. John Widaca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Widaca forces Braddock back against the cage and clinches. Widaca misses with a punch on the inside.

Widaca tries to circle away but Braddock has him pinned against the cage. Braddock wants a takedown.

Braddock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Widaca moves out of range of the body kick. Braddock throws a right hand that Widaca ducks under and follows up with a left that Widaca also avoids with ease. Braddock takes a body punch but keeps moving. Widaca scores with a nice head shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Widaca fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Widaca dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Braddock is breathing heavily. Widaca scores with a decent looking hook. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Braddock is defended easily by Widaca. Braddock takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Braddock looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Widaca works Braddock's body with a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Widaca works the jab nicely. Widaca lands a jab to Braddock's midsection. Widaca connects with a jab. Widaca moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Oh Braddock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Widaca connects with a single shot there. BOOM! Widaca lands a beautiful left hook that drops Braddock. Braddock tries to recover but Widaca is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Braddock lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montague drives through and clinches with Harper against the cage.
Harper lands an elbow that stopped Montague in his tracks for a moment. Harper lands a nice elbow. Harper pulls Montague into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Harper seems keen to control Montague's posture. Montague postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Montague working some strikes from top position. Harper has momentary wrist control but Montague slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Montague stands up from Harper 's guard - Montague perhaps looking for a knockout. Harper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Montague looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Check out the look on Harper 's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Montague taking a bit of punishment here - Harper scoring with strikes. You can see the frustration on Montague's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Harper is trying to ground and pound but Montague uses the momentary lack of control by Harper to regain half guard. Montague is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Montague is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harper is controlling him. Montague lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Harper ! Montague thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Harper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Montague. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Montague lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That was a close round but I would say that Mickey Montague will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Montague defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Harper . Harper wants to clinch up but Montague keeps it at a distance. Montague swats away the attempt to clinch by Harper . Montague lands a high kick!

Montague is trying to force a seperation but Harper has the dominant position. Harper has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Montague is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Montague takes an elbow to the forehead. Harper lands an elbow inside that Montague shrugs off. Montague is trying to break the clinch but Harper is controlling him. Harper comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Montague on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Montague unloads a knee to the mid-section. Harper lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. This has been an exciting period of action! Montague breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Montague lands a left and a right that send Harper crashing to the mat, dazed. Montague thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warnock tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hades swivels and escapes. Warnock instigates a clinch. Hades is trying to break the clinch but Warnock is controlling him. Hades prevents the takedown attempt.
Warnock is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Warnock. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hades has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Hades is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Warnock frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hades tries to buck Warnock off but Warnock takes his back! Warnock lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Warnock is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Hades is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Warnock is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Hades up.
Hades wants to get back to his feet. Hades preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Warnock. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Warnock is punishing Hades with some ground and pound. Warnock tightening his grip on Hades, looking for the choke. Hades controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hades is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Warnock gets his way!

John Warnock dominated that round. That's time! Warnock's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hades lands with an overhand left. Warnock dives in and grabs Hades's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hades pushes down on Warnock's head and hops out. Hades misses the jab. Hades cracks Warnock with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jab from Hades. Hades keeps the fight on the outside. Hades cracks Warnock with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Hades has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Warnock to stand back up!
It looks like John Warnock has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Warnock walks straight into a right hand from Hades - that's dropped him! Hades jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Warnock from any more punishment! Warnock complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
