Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danick Carano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ward kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blur - Song 2 . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ward tries to bum rush Carano with a series of wild strikes but Carano uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Carano throws a leg kick but Ward sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Carano tries a head kick but it misses.
Carano slips a jab and a cross from Ward.
Ward rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carano moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ward avoids a punch combination nicely.
Carano throws a one two combo.
Ward misses with a double jab
letting Carano counter with a right hand.

Carano lands a left and a right that send Ward crashing to the mat, dazed. Carano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

and Carano counters with a huge left! Ward is in big trouble! He's backing up but Carano isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Ward from any more damage. A dominating finish by Carano!

Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cox sprawls well. Cox wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.

Perry Cox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Jones.
Cox lands a nice hook to Jones's body. Jones takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
