The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slayer instigates a clinch. Dos Santos looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Dos Santos is trying to break the clinch but Slayer has him pressed against the cage. Slayer digs a right hand underneath Dos Santos's ribcage. Dos Santos let out a lung full of air as it connected. A nice glancing elbow lands by Slayer. Slayer makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Slayer effectively controlling the action here. and de Guia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Hibiki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as de Guia sprawls well. de Guia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hibiki gets slowly back to his feet. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Jackson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ian Landry! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Landry moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Landry with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Jackson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Landry tries to avoid it but Jackson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Landry to the ground. Landry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jackson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Landry defends it nicely. Jackson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Landry avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Good leg kick by Landry there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
That's one minute gone in the round. Landry fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Landry connects with a leg kick. Jackson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Landry throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Landry tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. A nice inside leg kick there by Landry. That's going to slow Jackson down. Landry throws a low kick but Jackson avoids it. Landry wants to slow Jackson down by chopping away at his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Landry chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Landry. Landry throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jackson's head.
It looks like Andrew Jackson has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jackson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Landry can pounce on him.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Landry lands a glancing blow to the side of Jackson's head. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Jackson. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Landry wants to land a leg kick but Jackson is out of range. Landry scoring well with a low kick there.

Jackson is breathing heavily. Landry dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jackson. That did some damage! Landry lets loose with a powerful body kick. Jackson will feel that in the morning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! That kick from Landry tenderised Jackson's leg. Jackson is trying to keep his angry face on. Landry lands a nice hook to Jackson's body. Jackson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Landry rushes Jackson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Landry lands a nice elbow. Landry lands a nice knee to the body. Landry lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Jackson wants to break free but Landry has control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Landry throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Jacksons head. Landry lands with a left to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ian Landry dominated that round. The cut man is working on Andrew Jackson's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Landry moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Landry digs a good body shot into Jackson's ribs. Landry connects with a leg kick. Jackson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. A solid leg kick lands there for Landry.

Jackson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Jackson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Landry stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Nice body punch from Landry - that landed with a thud.
A shot in the inside from Landry. Landry scores with an uppercut up the middle. Jackson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Landry scores with a hook to the body. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Landry creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Landry has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jackson tries to circle away but Landry has him pinned against the cage. Landry lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A quick uppercut on the inside from Landry. A short right hand to the side of the head by Landry. Landry lands a shot to the body. Jackson takes an elbow to the temple.
Andrew Jackson's cut is getting worse. Landry gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Jackson takes an elbow to the temple. Landry crunches a lovely knee into Jackson's ribcage. Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Landry is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Landry pushes Jackson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Jackson takes an elbow to the forehead. Landry lands a shoulder strike. Landry unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jackson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Nice body punch from Landry - that landed with a thud.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Landry. Landry creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jackson's defenses.
Jeez, Andrew Jackson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
