 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Monfries. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Monfries decides to stand back up.
Monfries drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Strath looking to control.
Monfries is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Strath looking to control but Monfries passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Monfries content to control rather than advance.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Strath throws a strike from the bottom but Monfries passes into side control!
Monfries is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Monfries decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Monfries throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Strath was covering up waiting for the punch and Monfries finishes the takedown easily into guard. Monfries has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Monfries trying to control the position from guard on top but Strath is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Monfries makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Monfries is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Monfries might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
 The ref stands the fighters back up. Angus Monfries wasn't doing enough on the ground. Strath tries to score a power double leg takedown but Monfries sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Strath somewhat. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Monfries closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Strath to the mat! Strath manages to get full guard. Strath looks gassed! Monfries is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Monfries accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Strath is trying to control the position but Monfries postures up. Monfries showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Monfries looking to pass the guard.

Serbo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diaz swats him away and circles back towards the center. Diaz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That was a close second round but I would say that Nick Diaz will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Snow is looking to control Roode's arms but Roode gets an underhook and turns him. Now Snow has his back to the ropes. Snow lands a body punch in the clinch. Roode has had enough of the clinch but Snow keeps him there for the moment. The fight stays on the outside here - Snow looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Snow lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Roode at a distance.
Roode throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Snow's waist but Snow gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roode off to one side. Roode drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Snow. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Snow throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Roode stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Snow scores with a jab to the body. Bobby Roode is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Snow swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Roode has instead reached around Snow's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Roode arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Richards trying to control but he's not successful this time. Richards throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Richards can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Melanko is looking to escape. Richards controlling his opponent. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Richards goes for an armbar but Melanko turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Melanko. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Aaron Richards will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.
Melanko misses with an uppercut. Melanko throws a hook but Richards avoids it easily. Richards has a takedown stuffed. A jab from Richards finds it's way through Melanko's defenses. Richards misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jay Melanko is winning the standup battle so far.
Richards shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Richards was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Melanko is working to get back to half guard.

Richards working for a submission but Melanko is keeping him at bay. Aaron Richards has got the better of the ground game so far. Richards is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Melanko can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Melanko is squirming around, avoiding Richards's attempts to control the action. Melanko is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
