The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Southerland fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nir sprawls well initially but Southerland persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nir wants to get back to his feet.
Southerland trying to control the action but Nir is working from the bottom.
Nir tries to kick Southerland off but Southerland keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Nir is trying to get back to full guard.
Nir gets full guard.
Southerland lands a couple of elbows.

Nir is working an open guard so Southerland takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Nir fails to land the takedown.
Southerland throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nir's waist but Nir gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Southerland off to one side.
Nir gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nir tries to bum rush Southerland with a series of wild strikes but Southerland uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Nir postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Southerland is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nir, into his guard.

Southerland stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Nir throws up his legs and catches Southerland in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Southerland tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Nir! That came out of nowhere!

McCulloch pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Young taps out and this one is all over!

Strife closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dick quickly recovers to half guard.
Dick pushes Strife off looking to stand but Strife dives back in and keeps control.

Strife is working for a kimura but Dick is defending it quite comfortably.
Strife thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Strife gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Strife takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A cross from Strife lands.
Strife swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Strife just misses with a punch to the body.

Dick gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Dick pulls guard effortlessly.
Strife wants to control from the top but Dick keeps moving.
Strife throwing strikes but missing.

Strife drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Strife jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Dick trying to keep a closed guard but Strife is proving a slippery customer.

Strife gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dick scores with the left hand. Strife knows he should have avoided that one.
Strife misses with a two punch combination.
A jab from Strife finds it's way through Dick's defenses.

Horrible takedown by Strife or perhaps it was just good defense by Dick which made him look bad.
Strife uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dick.
Cloud Strife seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Strife lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dick misses with a lunging right hand

Strife throws a hook but Dick blocks it.
Dick falls off balance throwing a combination
and Strife counters with a nice uppercut.
Strife tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dick manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Strife tests Dick's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Strife misses with a series of wild punches.
Dick takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Strife cracks Dick with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Strife misses with a double jab.
Strife throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dick throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Strife shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dick eats them both and turns towards Strife to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Strife misses with a takedown attempt - Dick sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Strife steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dick.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Strife pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Dick avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Dick with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Strife to score with a decent uppercut.

Strife has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dick is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Strife changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dick fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dick darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Hall stalks Stam and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Stam's face. Stam staggers backwards, shaken.

A lazy left from Hall finds it's target.
Hall is pawing at Stam, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Stam's nose. Stam is badly hurt! Hall pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Stam tries desperately to hold on but Hall is relentless in his assault! As Stam receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Hall away and this one is in the books!
