The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young scores with a nice strike. Young clinches up against the cage. Hernandez takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Gabriel Hernandez has been cut. A short right hand to the side of the head by Young. Young lands an elbow just above Hernandez 's eye. Young gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hernandez.
Young is struggling to control the position. Hernandez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Young prevents it.

Those have got to be taking their toll on Hernandez's gas tank. Young lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Young gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Hernandez takes a shot to the head. Young scores with a hook to the body. Young creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hernandez's defenses. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Hernandez is rocked! Young wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Young feints with a jab and clips Hernandez right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Hernandez is sent crashing into the canvas and Young leaps in for the kill! Hernandez tries to get to his feet but Young is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Hernandez is in need of a savior and steps in!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Banks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Banks persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing. Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Banks on that attempt. Banks on the wrong end of a nice hook.
It looks like Michael Banks has been cut. Banks is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jackson's half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jackson wants to get back to his feet.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! Banks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Banks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Banks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jackson missing with a left hand there. Banks was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Banks connects with a nice looking jab.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Denderson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A nice combination there by Cozad.

Cozad keeps Denderson at a distance using the push kick. Cozad throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. This has been an exciting period of action! Cozad lands a head shot. Cozad stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cozad wants it to stay on the feet. Cozad jabs at Denderson's body. Denderson looks gassed! Denderson throws a series of strikes that have Cozad backpedaling.
Cozad steps in with a hook that catches Denderson right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Cozad follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Denderson looks absolutely devastated.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Murphy. Murphy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kinkku on the wrong end of a nice jab. A combination from Kinkku does no damage. Kinkku avoids a lazy jab quite easily. An inside leg kick from Kinkku misses. Kinkku scoring well with a low kick there.

Murphy walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kinkku seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Murphy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Murphy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Armoff works his way into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Armoff is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Leis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Leis struggling a bit here. Leis might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Armoff kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Leis is looking to regain half guard here but Armoff keeps moving and retains side control. Armoff swings around for an armbar but Leis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Armoff's guard. Leis stands up over Armoff, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
