The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bostik thows a body shot but no joy.

Bostik fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sedfenor sprawls well initially but Bostik persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

I think Sanchez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Brotha Lynch - NUTS N GUTS. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mek Ju!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Roman slips a straight right by Ju.
Roman misses with a hook
and Ju counters with a stiff right hand.
Ju throws a nice head kick!
Ju throws a series of punches but Roman avoids them all with ease.
Ju's jab looks to have found its range, popping Roman under the eye.
Ju looks to land a combination. Roman sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Horrible takedown by Roman or perhaps it was just good defense by Ju which made him look bad.
Ju connects with a high kick.
Mek Ju seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Roman lands a right hook to the body.
Roman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ju tries to avoid it but Roman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ju to the ground. Ju escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ju, as that shot connected.
Ju throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Roman gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ju counters with a two punch combo.

Roman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ju throws out the jab.

Ju looks to land a right hand but Roman moved out of range.
Roman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Roman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ju tries to avoid it but Roman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ju to the ground. Ju escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A nice leg kick lands there from Ju.
Mek Ju is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Roman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ju won't be happy with that.
Ju dodges the ground and pound from Roman.
Roman is looking to take a break and control but Ju is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Roman cracks Ju with a big elbow.
Ju is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Roman off and has taken his back!
Roman tries to roll but Ju sticks to his back.
Ju lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Roman.

Roman throws an elbow that misses. Ju uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Roman's guard. Nice move by Ju!
Ju chips away with some ground and pound.
Roman trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Roman trying to keep a closed guard but Ju is proving a slippery customer.

Roman is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ju is aware though and is defending well.

Roman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Roman pulls Ju in close to prevent any damage.
Roman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Greco Roman wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Roman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ju missing with a left hand there. Roman was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Roman has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ju.
Roman fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Ju counters with a series of strikes. Roman will be more careful next time no doubt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Roman takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ju throws a good cross that connects.
Roman tries to clinch up.
Roman shoots in for a takedown but Ju shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ju tests Roman's chin there with a solid looking shot.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Roman keeps the fight on the outside.
Ju lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Roman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Ju connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ju lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ju.

Ju comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Roman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ju gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Ju working the clinch nicely. Roman is working for position but Ju cracks him with a big knee to the head! Roman crumples up against the cage and Ju lands two more shots before the ref can save Roman! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Mek Ju rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
