Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Stewart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brett Johnson! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Stewart as Johnson shoots in. Stewart manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure. Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stewart defends it easily. Johnson keeping full guard, as Stewart tries to pass. Stewart not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stewart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stewart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stewart is pushing down on Johnson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Johnson is fighting to maintain full guard but Stewart has managed to sneak the leg through. Johnson tries to roll over but Stewart keeps him under control. Johnson moves into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck. Stewart has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Stewart stands up from Johnson's guard - Stewart perhaps looking for a knockout. Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Stewart feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Stewart defends it easily. Stewart gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Stewart will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stewart closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Johnson to the mat! Johnson manages to get full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Stewart trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Stewart controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Stewart passes easily into side control. Nice work. Stewart thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Johnson tries to improve position but can't. Stewart tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Stewart's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Johnson is not content to let Stewart control the position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stewart lands a nice short elbow. Stewart is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Stewart thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Johnson's head. Stewart passes the guard and advances to mount! Johnson tries to reverse the position but Stewart maintains control. Johnson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stewart.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson wants to improve his position but Stewart is controlling well.

Johnson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stewart manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Johnson has Stewart in his guard. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stewart gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Stewart tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stewart forces his way into half guard. Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stewart pulls his head out easily. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Stewart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Stewart missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Nice strikes from Stewart there. Stewart trying to pass the guard but Johnson defending well. Stewart is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Stewart is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Johnson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Stewart wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Paul Stewart wasn't doing enough on the ground. Johnson misses with an uppercut. Stewart decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Stewart works his foot free and advances to mount. Stewart is looking to work his way around to Johnson's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Paul Stewart dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Stewart fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Stewart. Johnson tries for a takedown but Stewart sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Stewart tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stewart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Paul Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Johnson. Stewart fails with a takedown attempt. Brett Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stewart moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. Stewart gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Stewart slips nicely into half guard. Stewart prevents Johnson from improving his position. Johnson wants to control but Stewart is keeping busy and won't allow it. Johnson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Johnson. Stewart sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson is trying to control but can't.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Johnson for as long as he can get away with. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stewart missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stewart prevents Johnson from standing back up.
Stewart is trying to control the action in half guard but Johnson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul Stewart. Nice takedown defense from Stewart. No joy for Johnson on that attempt. Stewart misses with a low kick. Stewart gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson wants to improve his position but Stewart is controlling well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grace with a jab. Grace lands a two punch combo.
Benson shoots and misses and Grace counters with a one-two to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Grace swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Benson finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Grace's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Benson falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tim Grace! Tim Grace decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gracie doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ribeiro Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kincade cracks the inside of Gracie's front leg. Gracie fails with the takedown and Kincade counters with an outside leg kick.
Kincade lands a leg kick that knocks Gracie off balance momentarily. Gracie shoots and misses and Kincade makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Gracie really felt that one! Gracie is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kincade lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gracie's sensitive parts. Kincade lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Kincade drives through and clinches with Gracie against the cage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gracie tries to pull guard but Kincade forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kincade lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Gracie. A knee to the head by Kincade.
Kincade will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Gracie up against the cage. Kincade lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Gracie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kincade presses Gracie against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Kincade scores a nice knee to the body.
Gracie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kincade lands a nice elbow from the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rory Kincade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ribeiro Gracie's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Kincade fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kincade.
Kincade thumps Gracie with a low kick. Kincade thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gracie if he has to take too many more of those.
Gracie has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kincade. Kincade lands with a thumping leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie takes one on the button.
Gracie is rocked! Gracie looks up at the clock. Bad move! Kincade lands a right hand from hell, dropping Gracie. Kincade pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Henderson gets a double leg takedown into Zat's guard. Zat wants to stand but Henderson is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zat keeping moving, preventing Henderson from controlling successfully. Henderson is really struggling to control Zat but he's trying to hold on to the position. Henderson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Zat's guard. Zat trying to control here.
Henderson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Henderson is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Zat goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Henderson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hyabusa throws a right and a left that Saratuwari avoids nicely. Hyabusa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saratuwari. Hyabusa throws a head kick that half lands.
Hyabusa lands a slapping body shot.

Hyabusa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hyabusa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Saratuwari circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saratuwari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Saratuwari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Saratuwari tries to control but Hyabusa wriggling away. Saratuwari is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hyabusa is surviving well by controlling Saratuwari's body position as best he can. Saratuwari looking to secure an arm triangle but Hyabusa defends it well. Saratuwari working for a submission but Hyabusa is keeping him at bay. Hyabusa can't escape the position.
Saratuwari is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hyabusa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hyabusa shrugs it off. Saratuwari takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Saratuwari throws an overhand right that lands on Hyabusa's shoulder, as Hyabusa tries to avoid the shot. Saratuwari throws a jab but it's blocked by Hyabusa. Saratuwari swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hyabusa throws a nice inside leg kick. Saratuwari displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. This has been an exciting period of action! Saratuwari scores with a jab. Hyabusa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Saratuwari lands the left hand. Hyabusa throws a right hand that Saratuwari ducks under and follows up with a left that Saratuwari also avoids with ease. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kegon Saratuwari dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hyabusa leaves Saratuwari with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Hyabusa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Saratuwari shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hyabusa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hyabusa is looking to stand up but Saratuwari isn't so interested in that idea. Saratuwari tries to free his leg and advance position but Hyabusa is retaining full guard. Hyabusa keeping moving, preventing Saratuwari from controlling successfully. Saratuwari prevents Hyabusa from getting back to his feet. Kegon Saratuwari has got the better of the ground game so far. Saratuwari is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kegon Saratuwari was stalling too much, according to the referee. Saratuwari lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hyabusa throws a head kick that misses. Hyabusa throws a leg kick but Saratuwari sees it coming and checks it nicely. Saratuwari misses with an uppercut. Left hook, right uppercut from Hyabusa. Hyabusa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Saratuwari changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hyabusa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Saratuwari is looking to take a break and control but Hyabusa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Saratuwari tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Saratuwari has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Saratuwari in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saratuwari has an Americana. Hyabusa didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Saratuwari is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Saratuwari hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
