 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aloisis circles away from the clinch attempt.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Huber misses with an uppercut
and Jackson counters with a single leg into guard. Huber didn't expect that. Jackson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Michaels got a little sloppy there for a moment and St Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! St Pierre dodges the ground and pound from Michaels. Michaels throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

St Pierre wants to get back to his feet but Michaels drags him back down. Michaels cracks St Pierre with a big elbow. St Pierre taking punishment in the form of punches.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. St Pierre throws a few strikes from the bottom but Michaels takes advantage and mounts! Michaels cracks St Pierre with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This has been an exciting period of action! St Pierre taking shots to the head. St Pierre is in a horrible position here. Michaels smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
 St Pierre is rocked! Michaels softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and St Pierre is out cold! Michaels jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slayer instigates a clinch. Slayer is pushing Karelin up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Karelin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Slayer pulls his leg out and moves away.

Davis throws a hook but Black blocks it. Davis tries to clinch up but Black circles away and keeps his distance. Jab, jab by Davis - just one landing. Black cracks a nice hook into Davis's ribs.
Davis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Black to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Black is pushing down on Davis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Davis is fighting to maintain full guard but Black has managed to sneak the leg through. Davis punching from the bottom.
Black is trying to control the action in half guard but Davis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Black looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Davis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Black is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Davis! Black lands with some strikes. Davis really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Black has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Black has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Davis's face.

Black is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Davis has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Black is working for a guillotine from mount but Davis frees his head quite easily.
Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Black. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
