Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zack Lovell!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Prime has managed to clinch.
Lovell drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Prime jumps guard but Lovell turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Prime drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lovell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Prime goes for a takedown attempt but Lovell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Optimus Prime. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lovell fails with the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Prime.
Lovell feints a jab promting Prime to slip. Lovell then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Prime slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Prime tries a head kick but it misses.
Lovell tries for a takedown but Prime circles away easily

and Prime counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Lovell tries to kick Prime off but Prime keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Lovell wants to get back to full guard.
Prime with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Prime could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Prime is pressing down on Lovell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lovell is holding on for now.
Lovell tries to roll over but Prime keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Prime looking to sit in guard and control but Lovell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lovell tries to free his leg and advance position but Prime is retaining full guard.

Prime is looking to sweep but instead, Lovell has passed into half guard.

Lovell is looking for a kimura but Prime is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lovell to get the leverage.
Lovell wants to get back to his feet.
Optimus Prime overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lovell landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Lovell tries to clinch but Prime is having none of it.
Lovell keeps the fight on the outside.

Prime lands a hook that snaps the head of Lovell backwards.

Harkleroad has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wagner doesn't defend quickly enough and Harkleroad has managed to lock this one up! Can Wagner escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Harkleroad on a fantastic submission victory.

Horton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Price stacks Horton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Price!
