The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Johns throws a sloppy head kick and Strait moves out of range easily.
Johns scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Strait doesn't seem bothered though.

Johns drops Strait with a right and a left! Johns comes rushing in but Strait regains his composure and manages to keep Johns in guard.

It looks like Dire Strait has been cut.
Johns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Johns stands up over Strait, holding on to his feet. Johns throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Strait is out cold! Johns lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Mishima is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kang.
Mishima has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kang finds it's way round the side to connect with Mishima's head.

Kang works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Kang prevents a body shot from Mishima.

Kang lands a right hand that snaps the head of Mishima backwards.

Kang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kang misses with a few strikes there.
Kang chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Mishima dives in and grabs Kang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kang pushes down on Mishima's head and hops out.
Mishima changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kang tries to avoid it but Mishima manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kang to the ground. Kang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taro Mishima. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Parker swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pain.
Parker misses with a two punch combination.
Bob Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Parker tries to close the distance and clinch but Pain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pain pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Parker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
