The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pelkonen misses with a low kick as Speed jumps back.

Pelkonen moves into range and clinches up with Speed.
Pelkonen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Speed avoids it.
Speed jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pelkonen walks away with a smile on his face. Speed gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Speed throws a front kick that sends Pelkonen stumbling back into the cage.
Pelkonen throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Speed tries a head kick but it misses.
Pelkonen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Speed is out of range.
Speed fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Pelkonen checks it well.
Pelkonen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Speed paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pelkonen throws a leg kick but Speed checks it.
Pelkonen slaps away a takedown attempt from Speed, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Speed stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pelkonen.
Some bone on bone action there as Speed checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Speed sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Pelkonen lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Speed fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pelkonen to the ground. Speed is now in Pelkonen's guard.

Pelkonen wants to get back to his feet.

Pelkonen is defending against the submission attempts here by Speed.

Speed is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Pelkonen is refusing to be controlled, as Speed sits in half guard.
Pelkonen is looking for a sweep. Speed is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Speed uses his free foot to push down on Pelkonen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pelkonen.
Pelkonen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pelkonen tries to get out of the position.

Pelkonen has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pelkonen walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Speed checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pelkonen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Speed has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Speed and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Speed throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Pelkonen is looking to land body kicks.
Speed lands with a kick to the temple. Pelkonen shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Pelkonen avoids the head kick by Speed.

Speed tries to keep at a distance but Pelkonen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Speed misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pelkonen.
Pelkonen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Speed is defending well for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pelkonen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pelkonen has managed to get both his arms back between Speed's legs - danger averted.

Pelkonen is looking to defend but Speed has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pelkonen! Speed pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pelkonen taps out and this one is all over!
