7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Vilkastus! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vilkastus lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Vilkastus moves to clinch but Dudzinski breaks away and Dudzinski counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Dudzinski lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Vilkastus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Dudzinski jabs Vilkastus to the body, keeping him at a distance. No luck for Vilkastus with that takedown attempt. Vilkastus misses with a body kick. Dudzinski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vilkastus.
Dudzinski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Dudzinski takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Dudzinski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Vilkastus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Vilkastus has a closed guard, preventing Dudzinski from standing up. Vilkastus is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice jab there from Dudzinski. Mikko Vilkastus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Mikko Vilkastus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vilkastus shoots in looking for a takedown but Dudzinski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vilkastus's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Marek Dudzinski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Marek Dudzinski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Velcic tries to move into range but Schmidt moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Schmidt checks the leg kick. Schmidt missing with a left hand there. Velcic was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A big left from Schmidt misses. Velcic moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. A jab from Schmidt misses. A swing and a miss from Schmidt. Schmidt uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Velcic. Davor Velcic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slapping body kick lands there for Linic. Campbell wants to clinch up but Linic keeps it at a distance. Campbell tries to clinch up. Linic changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Campbell tries to avoid it but Linic manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Campbell to the ground. Campbell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Linic fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Campbell avoids it really well and circles away. Campbell tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Linic manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. He's pushed Nakamura's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nakamura misses with a takedown and Joe counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Joe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Joe manages to end up in side control. Joe is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nakamura knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nakamura tries to improve position but can't. That was a close round but I would say that Cottoneye Joe will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Takiki Jr is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Arpa. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gepardi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches McCall napping and manages to drive through into side control! The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. McCall being controlled for a moment. Gepardi trying to control the action but McCall is working from the bottom. Gepardi tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Gepardi wants to take a breather but McCall manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Gepardi. McCall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gepardi trying to control but McCall is working from the bottom. Gepardi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gepardi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Gepardi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Gepardi is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McCall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McCall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

What a showman! Zack Skyshriek told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryant waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Smith. Smith misses with a low kick.
Smith connects with a right hand. Bryant shakes it off. Bryant throws a head kick that misses. Bryant moves out of range of the body kick from Smith.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown but Bryant manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Smith's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bryant blocks a jab. Bryant swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Smith. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bryant is looking to clinch. Smith stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bryant. Smith throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Bryant moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off. Smith moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Bryant gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smith. Bryant throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot. Bryant misses with a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bryant bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smith's head. Erik Bryant is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bryant throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease. Smith comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Smith works the jab nicely. Bryant dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bryant misses with a few strikes there.

Bryant fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it. Smith tries a low kick but Bryant avoids it. Smith lands a head kick. Bryant smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryant clinches. Bryant throws a head punch that misses. Bryant throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Smiths head. Smith is trying to drag Bryant to the mat but Bryant just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A shot in the inside from Bryant. A head punch blocked on the inside by Smith. Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Smith throws a series of punches but Bryant avoids them all with ease. Bryant takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Smith stuns Bryant with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Bryant moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Smith bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Bryant throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Erik Bryant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith looks gassed! A jab from Bryant finds it's way through Smith's defenses. Whack! Bryant lands a heavy head kick that drops Smith. The ref tackles Bryant to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Smith was done.
