The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Sthowp, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sthowp shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mcghee napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sthowp cracks Mcghee with a big right hand but Mcghee just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Sthowp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sthowp misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Mcghee pushes Sthowp away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sthowp gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Sthowp lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Sthowp scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Mcghee to see if he's OK.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
