6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donald Mastadon! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mastadon takes a shot right to the bread basket. Villar cracks Mastadon with a right hand to the side of the head. Mastadon doesn't succeed with the takedown and Villar makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Villar lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Villar throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Horrible takedown by Mastadon or perhaps it was just good defense by Villar which made him look bad. Mastadon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Villar's waist but Villar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mastadon off to one side. Chris Villar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Donald Mastadon. Villar connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Mastadon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Villar throws a one two combo.
Mastadon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Villar counters with a series of strikes. Mastadon will be more careful next time no doubt. Mastadon misses with a takedown attempt and Villar counters with a three punch combo that has Mastadon backing up. Mastadon nods at Villar to acknowledge the strikes. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Villar connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Mastadon's hands. Villar throws a series of strikes that have Mastadon backpedaling.
Villar is working the combinations to good effect here. Villar rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mastadon moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Villar looks to land a combination. Mastadon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Chris Villar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Mastadon tries for a takedown but Villar circles away easily and Villar counters with a lovely shot to the body. Mastadon shoots and misses and Villar counters with a lovely shot to the body. Mastadon looks gassed! Mastadon on the wrong end of a nice jab. Villar throws an overhand right that drops Mastadon like a sack of potatoes! Villar dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eyre scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. A slow jab from Eyre misses its intended target. Guy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Guy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Eyre. Guy looks to land a combination but Eyre avoids it well. Eyre lands the left hand. Eyre throws a jab but it's blocked by Guy. Eyre throws the left hand but Guy avoids the punch easily. Guy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Eyre. Eyre lands a lovely overhand right. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Eyre throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Guy ducks under a wild hook from Eyre. Eyre throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Guy on the side of the head. Eyre throws an overhand right that lands on Guy's shoulder, as Guy tries to avoid the shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eyre misses with a straight left. Guy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Eyre. Guy takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Eyre looks to land a right hand but Guy moved out of range. Eyre misses with a straight left. Eyre connects with a good right hand that stumbles Guy. Guy circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Guy ducks right into an uppercut from Eyre. Eyre circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Guy to the canvas! Guy doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Eyre keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derrick Eyre! After the fight, Derrick Eyre was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Gonzales goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Cesar throws an overhand right that lands on Gonzales's shoulder, as Gonzales tries to avoid the shot. Julio Cesar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cesar catches Gonzales with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Gonzales looks to throw the jab but Cesar is out of range. Gonzales tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Cesar is able to avoid easily. Gonzales fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cesar avoids it really well and circles away. Gonzales fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gonzales looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cesar is fending him off so far but Gonzales persists. Nope, Cesar circles away and we're back to standing. Julio Cesar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Gonzales. Cesar looks to land a left hand but Gonzales moved out of range nicely. A punch lands to the side of Gonzales 's head but he takes it in his stride. Cesar lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gonzales misses the jab. Cesar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Gonzales momentarily.
Gonzales's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Gonzales stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cesar. Gonzales shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cesar's guard. Gonzales trying to control but Cesar is working from the bottom. Gonzales throws an elbow that misses. Cesar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gonzales's guard. Nice move by Cesar! Gonzales looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cesar is one step ahead there. Cesar stands up and waves to Gonzales to follow him. Cesar is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Gonzales throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cesar. Gonzales looks to land a left hand but Cesar moved out of range nicely. Gonzales takes one to the chin there. A jab from Gonzales does it's job there. Cesar fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gonzales looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Cesar looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Gonzales loads up on a big right hand but Cesar slips the punch. Cesar throws a hook but Gonzales blocks it. Gonzales throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Gonzales looks to land a right hand but Cesar moved out of range. Gonzales shoots in looking for a takedown. Cesar tries to sprawl out of it but Gonzales keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cesar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Gonzales fails with a takedown attempt. Gonzales looks gassed!

Gonzales has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cesar. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cesar scores with a nice body kick.

Cesar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gonzales gets slowly back to his feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Cesar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gonzales. Good shot there by Cesar. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Cesar lands a lovely overhand right. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bandicoot is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bandicoot looks gassed! Datu wants to control but Bandicoot passes easily into half guard.

Datu is trying to maintain the position but Bandicoot is very close to passing his half guard. Bandicoot is trying to control the action in half guard but Datu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bandicoot throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bandicoot seems to be looking for submissions.

Datu slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Bandicoot. Datu is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bandicoot has managed to free his arm - good work. Datu is working for a kimura but Bandicoot is defending it quite comfortably.

Bandicoot avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Datu with a flurry of punches that miss. Datu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bandicoot is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Datu defends well. Bandicoot trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bandicoot has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Datu doesn't defend quickly enough and Bandicoot has managed to lock this one up! Can Datu escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Bandicoot on a fantastic submission victory.
