The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanaja shoots in for a double leg but Flintoff sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vanaja shoots in looking for a takedown but Flintoff manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vanaja's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vanaja uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Freddie Flintoff has been cut.

Freddie Flintoff is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Flintoff lands a left and a right that send Vanaja crashing to the mat, dazed. Flintoff thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Flintoff cracks the inside of Vanaja's front leg.
Flintoff swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Flintoff defending well as Vanaja loads up on a big left hand.
Vanaja will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A solid leg kick lands there for Flintoff.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vanaja.

Flintoff lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Flintoff lands a big uppercut and Vanaja crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Vanaja looks OK. Flintoff waves Vanaja back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A shot to the body from Vanaja misses
and Flintoff counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Flintoff tries to bum rush Vanaja with a series of wild strikes but Vanaja uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Flintoff closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Vanaja out cold! Vanaja corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
