Some wild striking there from Ting.
Woodhouse tries for a takedown but Ting sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ting throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Woodhouse's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Ting dives in looking to finish as Woodhouse flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Ting's strikes! Ting is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Woodhouse's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Woodhouse was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leung Ting!

Winnfield with a hook.
Matiss throws a low kick but it's checked well by Winnfield.

Winnfield lands a left and a right that send Matiss crashing to the mat, dazed. Winnfield thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Matiss is rocked!

It looks like Mario Matiss has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Winnfield finds Matiss's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Matiss flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Winnfield lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Matiss will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jules Winnfield!
Our winner, Jules Winnfield, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
