Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Johnson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to East Bound And Down. Rua has chosen West Bound And Down as his entrance music. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Randall Johnson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Johnson. Rua looks gassed! Johnson lands a left and a right that sends Rua crashing to the canvas! Johnson dives into mount looking to finish!
Rua is rocked!
It looks like Alex Rua has been cut. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. This has been an exciting period of action! We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rua is trying to escape the mount but Johnson keeps good control and instead manages to take Rua's back.
Rua is still in real trouble! Can Johnson finish him? Johnson is landing big shots and Rua is squirming looking to escape! He can't escape though and the ref jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randall Johnson! Randall Johnson retains his super heavyweight title! After the fight, Randall Johnson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
