The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burcev throws a right and a left that Travis avoids nicely. Sergey Burcev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burcev swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A punch combination from Burcev misses. Burcev swings widly with a right hand
letting Travis counter with a right hand. Burcev ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sloppy strikes from Burcev. Those never looked like landing. Travis slips a jab from Burcev. Travis on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Burcev just misses with a punch to the body.
Travis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Justin Travis has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Burcev moves out of range of the strikes. Donk. Burcev catches Travis right on the button with a cross. Travis throws a looping overhand right but Burcev ducks down to avoid it. Travis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Travis digs a good hook to Burcev's body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Travis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Burcev trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Travis has momentary wrist control but Burcev slips an elbow through the middle. Burcev in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. Burcev is looking to work some ground and pound but Travis has wrist control. Burcev trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Burcev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Burcev throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Travis works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Burcev throws a strike but Travis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Travis sitting in guard, not really doing much. Burcev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Burcev looking to control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sergey Burcev. Burcev connects with a crisp jab. Travis thuds a left hand into Burcev's body. Burcev cracks Travis with a good jab.

Travis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Burcev. A telegraphed right hand from Burcev misses the target. Burcev throws a hook to the side of Travis's head but Travis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Burcev throws a series of punches but Travis avoids them all with ease. Travis walks into a straight right hand from Burcev. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Travis misses with a body shot.
Travis throws out a loose jab but Burcev uses good head movement to avoid it. Burcev scores with a nice right hand.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dikiy missing with a left hand there. Jackson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A slow jab from Dikiy misses its intended target. Dikiy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dikiy wants it to stay on the feet. Jackson fails to land the takedown. Jackson catches Dikiy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jackson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jackson checks a leg kick nicely. Jackson misses with a wild combination.

Jackson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dikiy. Dikiy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jackson walks into a straight right hand from Dikiy. The crowd cheers as Dikiy lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jackson doesn't seem phased though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Dikiy. Dikiy lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dikiy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Jackson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Dikiy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
