Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Mac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eusebio Neves! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neves dodges the punch combination from Mac.
Neves doesn't manage to clinch there - Mac circles away.
Mac cracks a nice hook into Neves's ribs. Mac avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mac's corner calls for a 1-2. Mac obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. A jab lands there for Mac. Mac ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. A lazy left from Mac finds it's target. Neves walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Neves tries a head kick but it misses.
Mark Mac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Neves tries to clinch there but Mac circles away.
Neves takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Mac will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Neves shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mac but Mac pushes him off and we're back to square one. Neves tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mac paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mac scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Mac bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Neves's head backwards. Mac uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Donk. Mac catches Neves right on the button with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mac scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Neves doesn't seem bothered though. Nice shot by Mac. Neves tries to clinch there but Mac circles away.

Mac bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Neves's head backwards. Neves on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Mac scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Neves throws a right hand that Mac ducks under and follows up with a left that Mac also avoids with ease. A left and a right from Mac both land. Nice combination. Mac scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Mac scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Neves wants to clinch. Mac scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Mac moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Mac is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mac scores with a nice right hand.
Mark Mac is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mac connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Neves takes a shot right to the bread basket. Neves looks gassed!

Mac thuds a left hand into Neves's body. Neves shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Mac dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Mac is working the combinations to good effect here. Mac's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Mac duly obliges. Mac lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Mac.
Neves is rocked! Left hook, right uppercut from Mac. Neves is still on wobbly legs! Can Mac finish him? Neves moves forwards but Mac connects with a nice, crisp jab. Neves walks into a straight right hand from Mac. Mac with a jab. Mac throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Neves. A punch lands to the side of Neves 's head but he takes it in his stride. Nice uppercut there from Mac. Neves takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Neves has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Neves there as he acknowledges the shot. Mac scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Neves doesn't seem bothered though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neves misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mac lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Mac stalks Neves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Neves's face. Neves staggers backwards, shaken. Neves takes a shot right to the bread basket. Neves seems to have recovered his senses. Mac lands with a nice body punch. Neves takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Mac goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Mac lands a left and a right that send Neves crashing to the mat, dazed. Mac thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Mac connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Neves tumbling to the canvas! Mac pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Neves was done - good stoppage!

Matias looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Belfort is fending him off so far but Matias persists. Nope, Belfort circles away and we're back to standing. Matias misses with a hook. Belfort ducked under it nicely. Belfort changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Matias looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Belfort working the ground and pound. Belfort trying to control the action but Matias is working from the bottom. Belfort tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Matias is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Belfort has just dragged him back down to the mat. Belfort thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Belfort is looking for a kimura. He might have it! Belfort might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Matias kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Matias is trying to buck Belfort off.

Matias tries to bum rush Belfort with a series of wild strikes but Belfort uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Matias throws a right and a left that both miss. Belfort will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Belfort shoots in for a takedown but Matias shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Belfort is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Matias is concentrating on defense, preventing Belfort from advancing position. Belfort is keen to just control but Matias is a slippery customer. Matias won't allow Belfort to pass to mount.

Gunderson distracts silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. silva wants to stand and escape but Gunderson is having none of it. Tome changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. koshhi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. koshhi is looking to regain half guard here but Tome keeps moving and retains side control. Tome wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by koshhi, who protects the arm well. koshhi stops Tome from passing to mount.
