The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caseiro gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Caseiro is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Stefaniak is keeping busy. Stefaniak manages to break the clinch.

Escobedo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sakers. Sakers fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Escobedo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Escobedo throws a head kick that misses. Escobedo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. No luck with that takedown attempt from Sakers. Raleigh Theodore Sakers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Escobedo misses with a head kick.
A left and a right from Escobedo both land. Nice combination. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sakers connects with a nice looking jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slow jab from Escobedo misses its intended target. Sakers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Escobedo as he jumps to the side. Escobedo looks gassed! Sakers lands a big elbow. Sakers breaks from Escobedo's wrist control and lands an elbow. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Escobedo can do anything to dispel that myth. Sakers controlling his opponent. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Escobedo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sakers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sakers putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Sakers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Escobedo looks a forlorn figure.
Sakers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sakers controlling his opponent. Sakers working Escobedo over with strikes here. Sakers controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Escobedo is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Escobedo is breathing heavily. That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakers is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Escobedo is hurt! He's hurt bad - Sakers fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Escobedo from any more punishment! Congratulations to Sakers! Great finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ibragimov tries for a takedown but Chsiev circles away easily and Chsiev counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Artem Ibragimov has been cut. A jab lands there for Chsiev. Chsiev is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Ibragimov's half guard. Chsiev seems to be working for a kimura but Ibragimov defends the submission attempt. Chsiev not doing much here.

Still in half guard, Chsiev seems content to control. Chsiev seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ibragimov for as long as he can get away with.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Rustam Chsiev just wasn't active enough. Chsiev misses the jab. Chsiev missing with a left hand there. Ibragimov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Ibragimov throws a sloppy head kick and Chsiev moves out of range easily. Chsiev feints and as Ibragimov raises his hands in defense, Chsiev changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chsiev got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ibragimov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chsiev has managed to get both his arms back between Ibragimov's legs - danger averted. Chsiev pushes down on Ibragimov's leg and manages to get into half guard. Chsiev is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chsiev decides to stand up. Ibragimov with a lazy takedown attempt and Chsiev counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Ibragimov looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chsiev sitting in guard, not really doing much. Chsiev wants to pass the guard but Ibragimov is keeping the position. Chsiev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chsiev is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Chsiev is in close to Ibragimov's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Chsiev throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ibragimov throws a right and a left that Chsiev avoids nicely. Chsiev dives in and scores a takedown into Ibragimov's guard. Chsiev stands up from Ibragimov's guard - Chsiev perhaps looking for a knockout. Ibragimov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chsiev.

Ibragimov is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chsiev lands a nice hook to Ibragimov's body. Ibragimov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Chsiev stuns Ibragimov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Chsiev. Ibragimov does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chsiev throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ibragimov was covering up waiting for the punch and Chsiev finishes the takedown easily into guard. Chsiev is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ibragimov can do to turn this around? Chsiev gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Ibragimov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Chsiev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Rustam Chsiev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Chsiev wants to work for an arm triangle but Ibragimov is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chsiev passes the guard and advances to mount! Chsiev controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chsiev gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Ibragimov slips a jab from Chsiev. Ibragimov walks into a straight right hand from Chsiev. Chsiev scores with a nice strike. Chsiev drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ibragimov is rocked! Chsiev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ibragimov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Chsiev landing strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chsiev in side control, just content to control the action for now. Chsiev passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ibragimov! Chsiev unloading with bombs! Chsiev get's back to his feet. Artem Ibragimov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chsiev lands a hook that stumbles Ibragimov back into the cage. Chsiev follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Ibragimov to the canvas! Chsiev pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Ibragimov has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fran is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jones missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jones is trying to control. Fran wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Fran is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fran keeps working.
