The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valderon is defended easily by Lamperbo. A punch combination from Valderon misses. Lamperbo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Lamperbo tries to land a front kick but Valderon steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Good leg kick by Lamperbo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Valderon shoots in but Lamperbo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Valderon fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruben Valderon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Valderon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lamperbo tries to clinch but Valderon moves out of range. Lamperbo misses with a head kick.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Valderon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lamperbo did well to prevent Valderon getting side control. Lamperbo is refusing to be controlled, as Valderon sits in half guard. Lamperbo is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Valderon scores with a couple of nice shots. Lamperbo is trying to stand.

Valderon decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Lamperbo tries to clinch but Valderon moves out of range. Valderon with a lazy takedown attempt and Lamperbo counters with a head kick. Valderon has picked Lamperbo up - he's going for a ride! Valderon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Valderon wants to control but Lamperbo is keeping him busy. Valderon winds up and cracks Lamperbo with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Lamperbo pushes Valderon off looking to stand but Valderon dives back in and keeps control.
Valderon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Valderon prevents Lamperbo from improving his position. Lamperbo is trying to maintain the position but Valderon is very close to passing his half guard. Valderon looks to score some points with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ruben Valderon will probably get the nod. That's time! Valderon's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lamperbo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Valderon!

Dover jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Zvijer walks away with a smile on his face. Dover gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dover throws out a loose jab but Zvijer uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zvijer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Zvijer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Zvijer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Zvijer connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Zvijer throws a lazy head kick and Dover counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Zvijer is lucky that one didn't land flush. Dover lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

A jab from Bingisser does it's job there. Bingisser walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Maximus checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Maximus tries to close the distance and clinch but Bingisser swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Maximus scores with a hook. Maximus wants to clinch up but Bingisser keeps it at a distance. Maximus tries to clinch but Bingisser moves out of range. Bingisser lands a jab to Maximus's midsection. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Maximus tries to close the distance and clinch but Bingisser swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Maximus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Bingisser lands a left and a right that send Maximus crashing to the mat, dazed. Bingisser thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Berticcus Maximus has been cut. Maximus is breathing heavily. Bingisser scores with a body shot.
Bingisser steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Maximus is out on his feet! Bingisser sets himself and nearly takes Maximus's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Nikisch is looking for a sweep. Maximus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maximus throwing shots but Nikisch is blocking nicely. Nikisch regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Maximus. Nikisch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Maximus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nikisch is fending him off so far but Maximus persists. Nope, Nikisch circles away and we're back to standing. Maximus takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nikisch lands a big head kick that sends Maximus to the canvas! Nikisch follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drunk cracks TW with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. TW shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Drunk defends it nicely. Drunk shoots and misses and TW counters with a shoot takedown. Drunk fights it but they end up in guard. Drunk is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and TW defends well. TW avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Drunk controls TW momentarily but TW frees himself. Drunk keeping full guard, as TW tries to pass. TW is working hard here to advance position. Drunk working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. TW doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. TW manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Drunk keeping moving, preventing TW from controlling successfully.

Drunk tries to escape but TW is in control. TW is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Drunk has escaped the position, nice work there. Drunk defending against the ground and pound. TW is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Drunk knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. TW is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. TW looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

TW wants to control but Drunk is keeping him busy. TW is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Drunk has managed to free his arm - good work. Drunk is trying to maintain the position but TW is very close to passing his half guard. Drunk wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No, TW has managed to get both his arms back between Drunk's legs - danger averted. TW seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Drunk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

TW tries for a kimura but Drunk is defending well. TW wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Drunk, who protects the arm well.

Drunk tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - TW cranks the arm and Drunk screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Drunk, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
