Read comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Fence Me In. Whitecoat comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Seven Nation Army kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Filho uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
White closes this distance looking for a takedown but Filho circles away.
Filho fakes high and swings low for a body shot but White manages to avoid it.

Filho feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends White sprawling to the canvas! White rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Filho finish him?!

Savio Filho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White shoots in looking for a takedown but Filho manages to keep the fight standing, pushing White's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan White. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Filho finds White's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! White flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Filho lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure White will be OK.
