The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Derson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Derson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Coach scores with the left hand. Derson knows he should have avoided that one.
Coach throws a hook to the side of Derson's head but Derson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Coach fails with an attempt to clinch.
Coach lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Coach lands a glancing blow to the side of Derson's head.
Derson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Derson is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Coach lands a brutal uppercut that launches Derson off his feet! Derson tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Davis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Slone lands with a nice body punch.

Davis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Davis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Slone bucks Davis off and manages to get back to his feet!
Davis shoots and misses
and Slone counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Slone decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slone is looking to advance position but Davis won't allow it.
Slone tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Davis.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Davis is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Slone is tapping! Great win for Davis!
