Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boom Pow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yu Kanta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Boom Pow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yu Kanta!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanta tries a head kick but it misses.
Pow shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kanta sprawls well. Kanta wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pow gets slowly back to his feet.
Kanta scores with a nice body kick.
Kanta shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Pow counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pow looking to pass the guard.
Pow pushes down on Kanta's leg and manages to get into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pow is working for a kimura but Kanta is defending it quite comfortably.
Kanta pushes Pow off looking to stand but Pow dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pow passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kanta!

Kanta wants to control but Pow is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pow has hold of Kanta's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kanta manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kanta really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pow goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kanta turns into him and now he's in Pow's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pow feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pow takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Pow drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kanta manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pow has Kanta in his guard.

Black Zeus had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 266.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sami Holmen was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Katsu shoots in looking for a takedown. Toglas tries to sprawl out of it but Katsu keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Toglas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
