Rua closes the distance but Hackney moves to the side

and Hackney counters with a nice uppercut that drops Rua onto his backside! Rua bounces straight back to his feet before we have a chance to even start the count. He'll get the standing 8 count anyway before we get back underway.

It looks like Mauricio Rua has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rua throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rua steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hackney.
Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Rua closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hackney counters with a stiff right hand.
Hackney fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rua looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rua is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Hackney doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Rua crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Rua's bad books for that mishap!
