Dalton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Megadeth Public Enemy No.1. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox misses the shot to the body.
Pure with a hook.
Maddox shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pure sprawls well. Pure wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Maddox gets slowly back to his feet.
Pure tries to bum rush Maddox with a series of wild strikes but Maddox uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Maddox is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pure.

It looks like Brad Maddox has been cut.
Pure jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Maddox throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pure throws a right and a left that both miss.

Maddox manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Pure on his heels. He'll look to pass Pure's guard now, I'm sure.
This has been an exciting period of action!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Maddox is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pure has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pure knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maddox on the ground.
Pure is trying to get back to half guard.
Maddox lands a decent elbow from side control.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Wilford Pure's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
