He's pushed Norris's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Norris stalks Cook and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cook's face. Cook staggers backwards, shaken. Norris lands with a nice body punch. Norris stuffs the takedown attempt from Cook. Cook gets slowly back to his feet. Cook shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Norris sprawls well. Norris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cook gets slowly back to his feet. TIberio Norris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oooooh!!! Norris has knocked Cook down with a huge combo! Norris steps away and waves a wobbly Cook back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Cook fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Norris avoids it really well and circles away. TIberio Norris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Cook.

and Cook counters with a single leg into guard. Norris didn't expect that. Cook stopping the sweep attempt from Norris. Norris being controlled here, momentarily.
Cook stands and steps away. Norris gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Norris moves into range and connects with a jab. Norris throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Norris manages to break the clinch.
Norris throws a series of punches but Cook avoids them all with ease.

Cook shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jab from Norris. Norris slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Norris throws a solid leg kick but Cook takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Norris. Norris swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cook. Norris misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cook.

A brutal finish to the fight - Norris jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). TIberio Norris! TIberio Norris tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Duarte content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Oh Kaphwan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Duarte stands up and beckons Kaphwan to his feet. Duarte throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Kaphwan crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Manuel Santos lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Manuel Santos. Paiskbah needs to keep his hands up - Manuel Santos had a free shot at his head there. Manuel Santos throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Paiskbah's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Manuel Santos dives in looking to finish as Paiskbah flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Manuel Santos's strikes! Manuel Santos is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Paiskbah's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Paiskbah was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Manuel Santos! After winning the bout, Simon Manuel Santos thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

Maia thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gusta working to try and regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maia wants to finish this one by submission but Gusta is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Maia. Maia looking to control and managing it successfully.

Bach bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bach scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Good leg kick by Frantz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Bach throws a combination that misses and Frantz counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bach is lucky that one didn't land flush. Frantz lands with a kick to the ribs.
Bach connects with a jab. Frantz throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bach. Frantz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bach waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Frantz. Bach misses with an uppercut
and Frantz counters with a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bach loads up on a big right hand but Frantz slips the punch. Nice cross by Bach. Bach misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Frantz wants to land a leg kick but Bach is out of range. Bach tries to bum rush Frantz with a series of wild strikes but Frantz uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Frantz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Frantz counters with a body kick that stops Bach in his tracks momentarily. Frantz explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Frantz is breathing heavily. Bach lands a nice shot that snaps Frantz's head back.
Bach looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bach swings widly with a right hand
and Frantz counters with a nice body kick. Bach lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Spartacus goes for an armbar but Pais turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Pais. Pais in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Spartacus bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pais's guard. Spartacus pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dontas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Carvol is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dontas. Carvol wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dontas keeps working. Dontas manages to get back to half guard. Carvol prevents Dontas from improving his position.
Dontas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Carvol pulls his head out easily. Dontas is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.
