The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fogerty throws a looping overhand right but Nayama ducks down to avoid it. Nayama lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Fogerty throws a hook but Nayama avoids it easily. Fogerty misses the shot to the body. Fogerty throws a body punch but Nayama moves out of range. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nayama is defended easily by Fogerty. Fogerty avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Nayama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Fogerty scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Fogerty ducks under a wild hook from Nayama. Yorito Nayama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fogerty jabbing away but nothing is landing. Fogerty doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Nayama fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fogerty looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Nayama throws a big shot that misses. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! No luck with that takedown attempt from Fogerty. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Fogerty. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fogerty misses with a shot to the body and Fogerty takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Fogerty throws a hook but Nayama blocks it. Fogerty works the jab nicely. Nayama shoots in for a double leg but Fogerty sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nayama waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fogerty.

Pickett is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bush is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bush stands up and we're back to a striking position. Bush connects with a nice looking jab.
It looks like Brad Pickett has been cut. Bush really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Volkov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Short bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Volkov's head. Short stuffs the takedown attempt from Volkov. Volkov gets slowly back to his feet. Short throws a body punch but Volkov moves out of range. Volkov shoots in looking for a takedown but Short manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Volkov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Short scores with a jab to the jaw.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Short wants to try and get back to his feet. Horrible takedown by Volkov or perhaps it was just good defense by Short which made him look bad. Short takes a swing at Volkov's ribcage but misses. Damien Short has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Volkov works his way into full mount! Volkov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Short is looking to escape.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Volkov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Short looks a forlorn figure.
Volkov lands a nice shot to the head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Volkov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Short can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakumichi misses with a takedown attempt - Stark sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Stark ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sakumichi moves away. Stark misses with a low kick.
Stark tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Sakumichi shoots in for a double leg but Stark sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sakumichi throws a looping overhand right but Stark ducks down to avoid it. Sakumichi has a takedown stuffed. Gabriel Stark has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nao Sakumichi. Horrible takedown by Stark or perhaps it was just good defense by Sakumichi which made him look bad. Stark misses with a wild body shot. Stark throws a big shot that misses. Sakumichi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stark tries to avoid it but Sakumichi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stark to the ground. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruce fails in his attempt to clinch. Light keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Light closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bruce circles away. A big left from Light misses. Bruce throws a right hand that Light ducks under and follows up with a left that Light also avoids with ease. Light lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Bruce swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bruce feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Light's calf. Bruce takes a swing at Light's ribcage but misses. Bruce dodges the punch combination from Light.
Bruce defending well as Light loads up on a big left hand. Bruce does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Light swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Bruce moves out of range of the body kick. Bruce misses with a low kick as Light jumps back. Bruce lands a nice looking body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruce darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Light ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Bruce moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Light tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bruce sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Light somewhat. Light will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Simon Bruce has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Light. Light chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bruce can pounce on him.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Light. Bruce scores with a nice head shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Light slips under a jab from Bruce. The fighters circling - Bruce throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Light lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Light looks to land a right hand but Bruce moved out of range. A left and a right from Light both land. Nice combination. Light swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bruce will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
