Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ilja Vasuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magomed Itaev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasuta kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is E.S. Posthumus Unstoppable . The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Itaev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Vasuta is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Itaev's half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Vasuta is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Vasuta is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Itaev is just riding it out for now. Vasuta eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vasuta is trying to control the action in half guard but Itaev is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Vasuta has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Itaev defend it? Vasuta steps over the head and cranks it - Itaev is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Vasuta!

Ronan lands a really nice looking cross but Montagner seems unphased.
Ronan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Montagner doesn't seem bothered though.
Montagner shoots and misses
and Montagner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ronan stuffs the takedown attempt from Montagner. Montagner gets slowly back to his feet.
Ronan lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ronan.
Montagner is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ronan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Ronan connects with a single shot there.

Ronan lands a left and a right that send Montagner crashing to the mat, dazed. Ronan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Ronan lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Montagner falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ronan dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Cadell lands an overhand right.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua.
Rua keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rua tries for a takedown but Cadell circles away easily
and Cadell counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rua keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cadell.
Cadell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cadell throws a series of punches but Rua avoids them all with ease.

Cadell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rua to the mat! Rua manages to get full guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Cadell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rua can't keep his opponent in guard - Cadell advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rua is looking for a sweep. Cadell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cadell moves nicely into side control.
Cadell is looking to take a break and control but Rua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Cadell stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cadell throws a head kick but Rua moves out of range.
Rua fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boyan Cadell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Rua.
Rua shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cadell but Cadell pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Rua has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Cadell after a bit of a struggle.

Sagat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Junior moves away.
Sagat takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Victor Sagat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sagat lands a nice shot that snaps Junior's head back.

Conrad shoots in for a double leg but Amarela sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Amarela throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Amarela lands with an overhand left.

Amarela tries to sprawl but Conrad drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Conrad is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Amarela sees it coming and defends easily.
Conrad seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Amarela does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Conrad is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Amarela is defending against the submission attempts here by Conrad.
Conrad wants to take a breather but Amarela is having none of it.

Amarela is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Conrad has latched onto it... Big trouble! Conrad pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Amarela is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Conrad!

Mockalatz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chavez.
Chavez throws a jab but it's blocked by Mockalatz.

Mockalatz lands a high kick!
Chavez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chavez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mockalatz - the referee stops the clock and Chavez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mockalatz. Chavez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
