Zimmerman comes to the cage accompanied by Linkin Park-- What Ive Done. Both these guys have really solid chins. 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kreg Yamovitch! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamovitch tries to land a front kick but Zimmerman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Zimmerman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yamovitch defends it nicely. Eric Zimmerman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Zimmerman checks a low kick from Yamovitch. Zimmerman pushes Yamovitch up against the cage in a clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Zimmerman wants to break the clinch but can't.
Zimmerman escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Yamovitch tries a head kick but it misses.
Zimmerman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Yamovitch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zimmerman somewhat. Zimmerman defending well as Yamovitch loads up on a big left hand.

He's got his arms around Yamovitch's waist but Yamovitch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zimmerman off to one side. Zimmerman lands with a shot to the body. Zimmerman throws a hook to the side of Yamovitch's head but Yamovitch sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Zimmerman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yamovitch sprawls well initially but Zimmerman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Yamovitch desperately trying to maintain half guard. Yamovitch trying to control from the bottom.
Zimmerman decides to return to a standing position. Zimmerman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Yamovitch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yamovitch keeps the fight on the outside. No luck with that takedown attempt from Zimmerman. Zimmerman shoots in but Yamovitch avoids the takedown attempt easily. Zimmerman with a poor takedown and Yamovitch counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yamovitch. Zimmerman is breathing heavily.

Yamovitch is trying to push Zimmerman away but Zimmerman has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Zimmerman wants to break the clinch but can't.

Zimmerman works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yamovitch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zimmerman's guard. Zimmerman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yamovitch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yamovitch manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yamovitch controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Zimmerman dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Zimmerman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yamovitch avoids it really well and circles away. Yamovitch closes the distance and lands a one-two. Yamovitch throws a head kick that misses. Yamovitch is looking to score with low kicks. Yamovitch circles away from the clinch attempt.
Some bone on bone action there as Zimmerman checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Yamovitch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Yamovitch misses with a leg kick. Zimmerman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Zimmerman duly obliges. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zimmerman lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Yamovitch at a distance.

Kreg Yamovitch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zimmerman thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Zimmerman being controlled here, momentarily. Yamovitch won't allow Zimmerman to sweep him here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Kreg Yamovitch wasn't active enough on the ground. Zimmerman throws a head kick that misses and Yamovitch counters into the clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Yamovitch just misses with a elbow thrown towards Zimmerman's brow. Zimmerman is looking for a takedown. Zimmerman tries to break the clinch but Yamovitch is controlling the position. Yamovitch is looking to control Zimmerman's arms but Zimmerman gets an underhook and turns him. Now Yamovitch has his back to the cage. Zimmerman pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Yamovitch misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Zimmerman shoots for a takedown but Yamovitch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Yamovitch thows a leg kick but Zimmerman checks it and Zimmerman counters with a thumping low kick. Yamovitch misses with a body kick.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Kreg Yamovitch. I think Yamovitch has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Smith works his way into full mount! Nilly takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Smith working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Nilly looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Smith! Submission of the night perhaps?

This has been an exciting period of action! Lee lands an elbow just above Carnitine 's eye. Lee lands a nice elbow. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Lee taking a breather. Lee blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Carnitine tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lee just stands there and leans against the cage. Carnitine drags the fight down to the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Carnitine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lee pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carnitine is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carnitine has his foot on Lee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lee works his way back into a safe position though. Lee slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carnitine is on top in guard.
Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carnitine on the ground. Carnitine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Carnitine drops back looking for a leg! Lee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lee manages to kick Carnitine off! Carnitine jumps back into Lee's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Carnitine passes Lee's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Carnitine is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lee is just riding it out for now. Carnitine eventually gives up the hold. Carnitine throwing shots but Lee is blocking nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Carnitine has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lee defend it? Carnitine steps over the head and cranks it - Lee is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Carnitine!

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Davis's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
