Undercard bout

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Badge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James McQueen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying McQueen's choice of entrance music: Edguy - Ministry of Saints. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McQueen bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Badge pushes McQueen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McQueen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
McQueen moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
It looks like McQueen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

McQueen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McQueen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McQueen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Badge can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McQueen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Badge is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

James McQueen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pirinen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Atleetti is out of range and Pirinen settles back down.

Atleetti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pirinen's guard.

Atleetti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pirinen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Atleetti feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and Pirinen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Atleetti throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Atleetti crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Pirinen - the referee stops the clock and Atleetti gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Pirinen. Atleetti manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
