8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Quik! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quik looking to score a takedown here. Gaston is defending well but Quik drives through and ends up in Gaston's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Quik wants to control from the top but Gaston keeps moving. Quik throws a strike but Gaston rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quik manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gaston manages to get himself to full guard.
Quik with a flurry of punches that miss. Gaston wants to stand and escape but Quik is having none of it. Quik pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gaston is keeping the position for now.

Gaston throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Quiks head. Gaston has picked Quik up - he's going for a ride! Gaston dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Quik wants to get back to full guard. Quik is trying to maintain the position but Gaston is very close to passing his half guard. Gaston wants to control but Quik is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quik is holding on to half guard well. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Nick Gaston has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Gaston closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gaston lands in his opponent's guard. Gaston has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gaston is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Gaston stands up and waves to Quik to follow him. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir slips a straight right by Webcke. Mir has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Webcke finds it's way round the side to connect with Mir's head. Webcke lands a jab to the head.
Mir looks to land a combination but Webcke avoids it well. Webcke misses with a looping left. Mir tries for a takedown but Webcke circles away easily and Webcke counters with a lovely straight right hand! Mir ducks under a wild hook from Webcke. Mir defending well as Webcke loads up on a big left hand. Jab from Webcke. Mir tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mir looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mir slips under a jab. A punch combination from Webcke misses. Webcke uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. This has been an exciting period of action! Mir gets a clinch. Mir manages to break the clinch.

Mir tries to close the distance and clinch but Webcke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Webcke tries to bum rush Mir with a series of wild strikes but Mir uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mir fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Webcke avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. A telegraphed right hand from Webcke misses the target. Mir will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mir in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Webcke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! That was a close round but I would say that Frank Mir will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Shane Webcke's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by Webcke. Webcke displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mir. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Webcke looks to land a left hand but Mir moved out of range nicely. Mir avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Crunch! Mir slams his shin into Webcke's torso. Webcke shoots in looking for a takedown. Mir tries to sprawl out of it but Webcke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mir manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A momentary lapse in concentration from Mir enables Webcke to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mir manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Webcke throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mir works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Webcke postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Webcke is posturing up here but Mir has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Webcke tries to roll out but it's too tight and Webcke has to tap! Slick submission there by Mir!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marko keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Proudstar takes one on the button. Marko throws a head kick but Proudstar moves out of range.
Proudstar slips a jab from Marko. Proudstar wants to slow Marko down by chopping away at his legs. Proudstar cracks Marko with a right hand to the side of the head.
It looks like Cain Marko has been cut. Marko misses with a hook. Proudstar ducked under it nicely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marko looks to land a combination but Proudstar avoids it well. Marko moves forwards but Proudstar connects with a nice, crisp jab. Proudstar throws a hook but Marko avoids it easily.

Cain Marko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Marko checks a leg kick. Proudstar throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Marko on the side of the head. Marko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Proudstar moves away. A telegraphed right hand from Proudstar misses the target. Proudstar looks to clinch and Marko counters with a nice body shot. Marko has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Marko bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Proudstar's head.
Proudstar is rocked! Marko misses the jab. Marko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Proudstar jabbing away but nothing is landing. Proudstar with a jab.

Oh and another big punch and a knee - Proudstar can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Marko and Proudstar drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. Hytten ducks under a wild hook from Samurai. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hytten throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Samurai thows a body shot but no joy. Nice body punch from Samurai. Samurai sends Hytten crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Samurai is motioning to the referee to let Hytten up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Afro Samurai dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Afro Samurai! A relieved looking Afro Samurai thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
