The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Krauss shoots in for a double leg but Flores sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Krauss closes this distance looking for a takedown but Flores circles away. Krauss shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Flores manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Flores throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Krauss is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krauss trying to control the position from guard on top but Flores is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Flores is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Krauss makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Krauss drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Flores manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Krauss has Flores in his guard. Flores decides to stand up, so the ref orders Krauss to his feet. Flores tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krauss shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Flores as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Krauss. That's going to take a lot out of him. Krauss shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Flores as he avoids it easily. Flores shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Krauss eats them both and turns towards Flores to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Bo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tanaka! Royer is looking to take a break and control but Di Maria is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Di Maria is trying to get back to his feet.
