0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Franks! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franks keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Franks tries to clinch but Hunter is having none of it. Hunter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Franks keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hunter is working for a submission of some sort.
Franks is trying to get back to full guard. Hunter is looking to take a break and control but Franks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hunter seems to be working for a kimura but Franks defends the submission attempt. Franks is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hunter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hunter's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Franks lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Franks gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hunter to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hunter tries to free his leg and advance position but Franks is retaining full guard. Franks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hunter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Franks pulls his head out easily. Hunter is breathing heavily. Franks keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hunter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Franks pulls his head out easily. Hunter is looking to improve his position.
Franks seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Franks decides to return to a standing position. The fight stays on the outside here - Franks looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Franks tries for a takedown but Hunter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hunter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Hunter is pressing down on Franks's thigh, looking to free his foot. Franks is holding on for now. Hunter keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Franks is trying to control but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Franks is trying to stand up here but Hunter is controlling him well.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mike Franks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Hunter fails to land the takedown. Hunter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mike Franks will probably get the nod. That's time! Hunter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! David fails in his attempt to clinch. Samson David seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. David gets caught napping as Lovell dives in and scores a takedown. David manages to retain guard. Lovell looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lovell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. David being controlled here, momentarily. Lovell throws a big elbow that misses. Lovell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Steve Lovell has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. David lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Sloppy strikes from David. Those never looked like landing. David lands with a kick to the temple. Lovell shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Steve Lovell has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! David shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. A shot to the liver by David. Beautiful body shot. Samson David is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Oooooh!!! David has knocked Lovell down with a huge combo! David steps away and waves a wobbly Lovell back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Lovell is breathing heavily. David tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lovell paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lovell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lovell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but David does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. David trying to control from the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ballard gets a takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lovell is trying to stand.
Ballard is looking to pass Lovell's guard but actually Lovell recovers to full guard. Lovell wants to stand but Ballard is controlling the position. Lovell pushes Ballard off and gets back to his feet.
Ballard clinches up with Lovell and pushes him back against the cage. Ballard has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lovell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lovell tries to pull guard but Ballard holds him up against the cage and eventually Lovell drops back down to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lovell tries to break free but Ballard pushes him back against the cage. Ballard gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Ballard engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Lovell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Ballard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lovell for as long as he can get away with. Ballard trying to control the position from guard on top but Lovell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kasey Ballard. Lovell lands with a nice body kick. Lovell swings for the body but Ballard moves out of range.
Ballard slips under a jab from Lovell. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ballard avoids the head kick by Lovell.

Ballard decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Ballard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lovell as he jumps to the side. Lovell misses with a body shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lovell has a takedown stuffed. Ballard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lovell as he avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Kasey Ballard showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ballard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? Morris is breathing heavily. Smith controls Morris momentarily but Morris frees himself. Smith throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spartacus shoots in for a takedown but Sizemore shows good takedown defense. Sizemore rushes Spartacus and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Spartacus keeps control of Sizemore as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Sizemore tries for a takedown but Spartacus manages to get underhooks.
Sizemore wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Spartacus wants the takedown. Sizemore is fighting it off but Spartacus persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sizemore's guard against the cage. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Spartacus won't allow Sizemore to sweep him here. Spartacus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sizemore works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Spartacus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Spartacus is working Sizemore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Sizemore has his hands on Spartacus's head, controlling the position.

Markus Sizemore has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Sizemore throws a low kick but it's checked well by Spartacus. Spartacus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sizemore's waist but Sizemore gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spartacus off to one side. Sizemore shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Spartacus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Markus Sizemore overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sizemore slips nicely into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sizemore moves into full mount! Spartacus won't be happy about that! Sizemore pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Thracian Spartacus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sizemore lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Spartacus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Sizemore goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Spartacus is on top in guard.
Markus Sizemore is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Sizemore is adopting a defensive guard.
