The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavez thows a body shot but no joy. Chavez misses with a jab, cross combination.

Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Chavez screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Manningham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Brock! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brock defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Manningham. Manningham lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Manningham feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Manningham is looking to work some ground and pound but Brock has wrist control. Manningham trying to control the position from guard on top but Brock is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brock is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brock might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Manningham kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Brock tries for a takedown but Manningham sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Manningham attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Brock stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brock wants it to stay on the feet. Manningham fails with the takedown and Brock counters with a low kick, right behind Manningham 's knee. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Manningham. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brock doesn't manage to clinch there - Manningham circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Manningham as he avoids it easily. Brock throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Manningham tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brock is in Manningham's guard. Brock would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Manningham manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brock manages to get himself to full guard.
Brock pulls Manningham in close to prevent any damage. Manningham wants to control from the top but Brock keeps moving. Brock working a defensive guard here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eddie Brock. Manningham throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Brock shoots for a takedown but Manningham saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brock doesn't succeed with the takedown and Manningham counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brock's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Manningham wants to control from the top but Brock keeps moving. Manningham tries to free his leg and advance position but Brock is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brock is working an open guard so Manningham takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Brock with a poor takedown and Manningham counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Manningham not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Brock wants to get back to full guard but Manningham has mounted him! Manningham looking to secure an arm triangle but Brock defends it well. Manningham goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Brock turns into him and now he's in Manningham's guard.

Let's see if he can advance position further. Brock moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Brock keeping hold of Manningham's head, controlling as best he can. Manningham works his way into full mount! Brock is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manningham jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Brock manages to avoid the submission attempt. Manningham has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Brock doesn't succeed with the takedown and Manningham counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brock is trying to get back to full guard. Brock is staying active underneath Manningham, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Manningham is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Manningham looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Brock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Manningham avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Brock loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Manningham controls Brock momentarily but Brock frees himself.

Brock trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Brock trying to control the position from guard on top but Manningham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brock has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Manningham is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. No luck with that takedown attempt from Manningham. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kurt Manningham. That's going to take a lot out of him. Manningham dodges the punch combination from Brock.
Brock forces Manningham back against the cage and clinches. Brock tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Manningham just stands there and leans against the cage. Brock tightens his grip and picks Manningham up, before dumping him to the ground. Manningham manages to land in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Manningham has control of Brock's left arm, preventing Brock from doing any damage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Brock trying to stand up but can't free himself from Manningham's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Eddie Brock comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Manningham has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

McCool tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Marconi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. McCool seems to have recovered his senses. McCool gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. McCool throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Marconi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McCool on the side of the head. A big left from McCool misses. Marconi feints with a jab and clips McCool right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! McCool is sent crashing into the canvas and Marconi leaps in for the kill! McCool tries to get to his feet but Marconi is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that McCool is in need of a savior and steps in!

Kootz is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A good leg kick by Lyle. Kootz is still on wobbly legs! And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jon Lyle. Well Lyle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ironshield dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice uppercut there from Ironshield.
It looks like David Paterson has been cut. Ironshield throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Paterson fails with a takedown attempt. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Paterson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ironshield looks to land a right hand but Paterson moved out of range. Paterson misses with a takedown attempt - Ironshield sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ironshield loads up on a big right hand but Paterson slips the punch.

Ironshield gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gunrak Ironshield has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Paterson. Ironshield keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Paterson moves out of range as Ironshield strikes.

Ironshield goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ironshield slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A combination from Ironshield does no damage. Sloppy strikes from Ironshield. Those never looked like landing. Ironshield lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paterson circles away quickly and effectively. Paterson slips a straight right by Ironshield. The fighters circle momentarily. Ironshield darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Paterson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ironshield connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ironshield scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Paterson doesn't seem bothered though. Ironshield throws a head kick but Paterson moves out of range.
Paterson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ironshield swivels and escapes. Ironshield throws a right hand that Paterson ducks under and follows up with a left that Paterson also avoids with ease. Gunrak Ironshield is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ironshield throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Paterson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Paterson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Danga de danga de dang - Ironshield scores with a four punch combination! Ironshield lands with an overhand left. Ironshield sends Paterson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ironshield is motioning to the referee to let Paterson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Ironshield drops Paterson with a big left hand! Paterson is injured, injured bad! Ironshield jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

After the fight, Gunrak Ironshield was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things.
