The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Brian is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vellonaz sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Vellonaz looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! O Brian shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vellonaz sprawls well. Vellonaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than O Brian was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Vellonaz is trying to escape the mount.

O Brian tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. O Brian looking to control but Vellonaz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. O Brian lands a big shot there that rocks Vellonaz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

TJ O Brian overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vellonaz wants to control but O Brian is having none of it. O Brian has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Vellonaz's face.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Materla escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arona shoots in for a takedown but Materla shows good takedown defense. Arona rushes Materla and presses him up against the cage. Materla breaks the clinch.

Materla is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Gomes scrambles back to his feet. Gomes connects with a high kick. Calix will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
