0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Janne Hakk! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hakk shoots in but Waara avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hakk is looking to clinch. Hakk shoots for a double leg takedown but Waara sprawls well. He's pushed Hakk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Janne Hakk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hakk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Waara's waist but Waara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hakk off to one side. WIlle Waara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janne Hakk. Hakk is looking to clinch but Waara is avoiding it.
Hakk shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hakk showed some decent athleticism there. Hakk wants to stand up but Waara is controlling the position.
Hakk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waara. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hakk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hakk looks gassed! Waara gets full guard. Waara has his feet on Hakk's thighs here. He's pushed Hakk off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hakk screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sean lands a nice shot to the body.
Sean moves into range and clinches up with Tsymbilar. Tsymbilar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Tsymbilar has his foot on Sean's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sean works his way back into a safe position though. Sean with a nice head shot there. Tsymbilar controls Sean momentarily but Sean frees himself. Sean controlling from the top position. Tsymbilar looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tsymbilar has momentary wrist control but Sean slips an elbow through the middle. Sean is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sean chips away with some ground and pound. Sean working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Tsymbilar's head. Sean is looking to work some ground and pound but Tsymbilar has wrist control. Tsymbilar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tsymbilar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sean manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sean scoring with some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poppins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Poppins looking to stall.
Poppins is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. towles can't fight it off and eventually Poppins manages to take the fight to the floor. towles looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Poppins trying to control but towles is working from the bottom. towles wriggles free and stands up. towles scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. towles wants to control but Poppins is keeping him busy. towles tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no towles has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Poppins wants to improve his position, back to half guard but towles has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Poppins's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Poppins is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for towles!

Jamppa can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jamppa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Early's sensitive parts. DJ Early has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Early shoots in but no luck this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A good leg kick by Jamppa. A head kick by Early misses and Jamppa makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Early really felt that one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balls tries to clinch but McAwis moves out of range. Balls scores with a takedown into McAwis's guard. Balls is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Balls avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Balls is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. McAwis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Balls is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McAwis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Balls's back instead.
