The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers misses with a low kick.
Tavarez bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rogers's head backwards.
Rogers just misses with a punch to the body.
Tavarez throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Tavarez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rogers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tavarez takes one on the button.
Tavarez misses with a head kick.
Tavarez throws a lazy body kick
and Rogers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tavarez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Rogers turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Tavarez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Tavarez defending well as Rogers loads up on a big left hand.
Tavarez tries to clinch but Rogers moves out of range.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tavarez, as that shot connected.
Tavarez tries to bum rush Rogers with a series of wild strikes but Rogers uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Tavarez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rogers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tavarez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rogers.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers throws a solid leg kick but Tavarez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Rogers.
Tavarez shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rogers eats them both and turns towards Tavarez to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Rogers is rocked!
Rogers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rogers is still on wobbly legs! Can Tavarez finish him?
Rogers bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tavarez's head.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Tavarez! This one is all over!
