The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steel scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cooper can't do much from the bottom here.

Steel drops back looking for a leg! Cooper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cooper manages to kick Steel off! Steel jumps back into Cooper's guard.

Steel drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cooper manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Steel has Cooper in his guard.
Steel wants to control the position but Cooper says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Steel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Cooper wants to stand but Steel is controlling his posture from full guard.

Steel has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Cooper doesn't defend quickly enough and Steel has managed to lock this one up! Can Cooper escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Steel on a fantastic submission victory.

Nomurokai pushes Powers up against the cage in a clinch.

Nomurokai is fighting off a takedown attempt but Powers is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Nomurokai to the mat. Nomurokai regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
