The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frusciante shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Racaza sprawls well. Racaza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Frusciante gets slowly back to his feet. Frusciante really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Racaza moves into the clinch. Frusciante breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Frusciante misses with a body kick. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Frusciante. Racaza shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Frusciante eats them both and turns towards Racaza to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Racaza drives through and clinches with Frusciante against the cage.
Frusciante has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Frusciante misses with an elbow over the top. Frusciante is working for takedown but Racaza is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Frusciante. Frusciante throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Left hook, right uppercut from Racaza. Simon Racaza is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Racaza misses with an uppercut. Racaza scores with a jab to the body. Frusciante tries to clinch up but Racaza circles away and keeps his distance. Racaza tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Racaza lands a body shot.

John Frusciante has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Frusciante fails in his attempt to clinch. John Frusciante is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Racaza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Frusciante manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Frusciante. I think Racaza has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell throws a nice looking combination but Petterson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Petterson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Liddell pinned against the cage. Liddell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Petterson drives through with a takedown into Liddell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Petterson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Petterson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Petterson throws a big right hand that misses. Liddell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Petterson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alexander Petterson was stalling too much, according to the referee. Horrible takedown by Petterson or perhaps it was just good defense by Liddell which made him look bad. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petterson is defended easily by Liddell. Liddell says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Petterson is looking to take a break and control but Liddell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Petterson is controlling the pace.

Spar tries to avoid it but Elia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spar to the ground. Spar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Spar misses with a looping right.
