0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charles Cartez! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Cartez misses its intended target. Burnes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Cartez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Cartez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Burnes fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cartez, pushing him back against the cage. Cartez pulls guard successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Cartez pushes Burnes off and scrambles back to his feet.
Cartez swats away the attempt to clinch by Burnes. Cartez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burnes as he avoids it easily. Burnes blocks a head kick by Cartez.
Cartez has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cartez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Burnes tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cartez pulls guard. Cartez wriggles free and stands up. Burnes tries to clinch but Cartez is having none of it. Burnes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Cartez keeps the fight on the outside. Burnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Burnes wants it to stay on the feet. Cartez tries a head kick but it misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Burnes ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Burnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cartez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Cartez throws the left hand but Burnes avoids the punch easily. Charles Cartez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big right from Cartez misses. Burnes is looking to clinch. Cartez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cartez shoots in and drives through. Burnes sprawls well. Burnes tries to clinch but Cartez is having none of it. Burnes is looking to clinch. Cartez shoots in for a double leg but Burnes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Cartez gets in close and instigates a clinch. Still in the clinch, Burnes scores with a nice short uppercut. Burnes scores with a nice hook to the head. Cartez is trying to push Burnes away but Burnes has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Burnes. Burnes manages to break the clinch.

Cartez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burnes tries to avoid it but Cartez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burnes to the ground. Burnes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Cartez darts in and clinches Burnes up against the cage. Cartez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cartez is trying to break free. Cartez blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Charles Cartez will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cartez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cartez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cartez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burnes, pushing him back against the cage. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Burnes just misses with a elbow thrown towards Cartez's brow. Cartez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Cartez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Burnes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Cartez's efforts to push away. Cartez tries to pull guard but Burnes holds him up against the cage and eventually Cartez drops back down to his feet.
Burnes swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burnes misses with a short punch on the inside. Burnes working aggressively here.
Cartez jumps guard and drags Burnes to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Burnes throwing strikes but missing. Cartez kicks Burnes off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cartez closes the distance and pushes Burnes back into the cage. Cartez pulls guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burnes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cartez scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Mack Burnes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cartez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Burnes slaps away a takedown attempt from Cartez, before circling back to the center of the mat. Burnes gets tackled into the cage by Cartez. Cartez maintains the clinch. Burnes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Burnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burnes scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Cartez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Burnes but Burnes pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mack Burnes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Cartez. Cartez misses with a takedown attempt - Burnes sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cartez throws a shot from downtown. Burnes moves away and avoids it. Cartez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cartez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burnes smiles and moves away.

Burnes fails in his attempt to clinch. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cartez. Cartez clinches up with Burnes and pushes him back against the cage. Burnes misses with some punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Burnes fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Charles Cartez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Burnes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!
Burnes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Cartez swats away the attempt to clinch by Burnes. Cartez gets a clinch. Cartez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Burnes uses from the top position. Cartez pushes Burnes off and scrambles back to his feet.

Cartez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Mack Burnes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cartez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Burnes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Cartez manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Burnes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cartez paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mack Burnes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Burnes bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cartez's head. Cartez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Cartez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Cartez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Burnes gets tackled into the cage by Cartez. Cartez maintains the clinch. Burnes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Burnes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cartez shoots in for a takedown but Burnes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Burnes wants to clinch. Burnes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cartez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burnes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Burnes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cartez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Burnes scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Cartez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Burnes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Burnes doesn't manage to clinch there - Cartez circles away.

Cartez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Burnes is looking to reverse the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burnes wants to control but Cartez postures up.
And that's the end of the fight! Charles Cartez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Cartez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Out circles away from the clinch attempt so Out counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Out throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Minneo works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Out throwing strikes but missing. Out lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Out keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Minneo's head. Minneo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Out pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Minneo is keeping the position for now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Out accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Minneo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Out is aware though and is defending well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Out keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Minneo's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Out scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Out with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Out chips away with some ground and pound. Out is looking to work some ground and pound but Minneo has wrist control. Out makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Out advances to half guard. Out is nestled in close to Minneo, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Out throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Out is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Out working over Minneo with some ground and pound. Minneo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Nice strikes from Out there. Out scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Out thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Minneo's head. Out scores with a big shot! Minneo's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Minneo! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OReilly lands with a thumping leg kick.
OReilly scores with a jab. Nice jab there from OReilly. OReilly buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
OReilly sizes up Simpson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! OReilly scores with a sloppy right hand. Simpson should have avoided that one.
Simpson is rocked! OReilly gets a double leg takedown into Simpson's guard. Oh Simpson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! OReilly postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. OReilly is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. OReilly advances to half guard. Simpson seems to have got his legs back now. OReilly lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. OReilly takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Simpson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but OReilly scores with a couple of nice shots. OReilly escapes and gets back to his feet. OReilly throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Simpson crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Herman shoots in and bounces Goldberg off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Herman looking to pass the guard. Goldberg looking for a sweep. Not yet Goldberg, not yet. Herman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Herman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Goldberg dives on top into guard. Goldberg throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Goldberg passes into half guard. Herman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Goldberg is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goldberg prevents Herman from improving his position. Herman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Goldberg. Goldberg looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Goldberg throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Goldberg lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Goldberg misses with a head shot. Herman uses the momentum to regain guard. Goldberg passes Herman's left leg - he's now in half guard. Goldberg wants to free his trapped foot but Herman is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Herman avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Goldberg. Goldberg is looking to pass Herman's guard but actually Herman recovers to full guard. Goldberg prevents Herman from getting back to his feet. Goldberg lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Goldberg passes Herman's left leg - he's now in half guard. Goldberg throwing shots but Herman is blocking nicely. Goldberg tries to pass to full mount but Herman defends it. Goldberg works his foot free and advances to mount. Goldberg prevents Herman from getting the reversal.

Herman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goldberg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Goldberg thowing shots but they're missing. Herman is looking to get to half guard. Goldberg sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Goldberg thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown scores with a hook to the body. Samuel takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. A telegraphed right hand from Brown misses the target. Sloppy strikes from Samuel. Those never looked like landing. Samuel displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Brown slips a jab and a cross from Samuel.
Samuel looks to land a combination but Brown avoids it well. Samuel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brown counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Brown lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
It looks like George Samuel has been cut. Brown prevents a body shot from Samuel. Brown tries for a takedown but Samuel manages to get underhooks.
Samuel can't find room to land a body shot as Brown controls the action.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Samuel stops a takedown attempt from Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roberts dodges the punch combination from Mcdonel .
Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Roberts showed some decent athleticism there. Roberts looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Roberts lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Roberts trying to advance position but Mcdonel counters by regaining guard. Mcdonel is trying to control the position but Roberts postures up. Mcdonel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Roberts! Mcdonel takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts regains half guard. Mcdonel is looking to advance position but Roberts won't allow it. Mcdonel prevents Roberts from standing back up.
Roberts wants to improve his position but Mcdonel is controlling well.
Mcdonel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Roberts knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mcdonel seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roberts does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roberts tries to roll over but Mcdonel keeps him under control. Roberts missing with punches from the bottom.
Roberts is trying to maintain the position but Mcdonel is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roberts is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Roberts is looking to control Mcdonel 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Roberts avoid being mounted?

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Mcdonel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mcdonel wants it to stay on the feet. Mcdonel lands with a nice body punch. Roberts fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mcdonel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Roberts has time to react. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mcdonel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Roberts has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Roberts and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Michael Roberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcdonel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Horrible takedown by Roberts or perhaps it was just good defense by Mcdonel which made him look bad. Jesse Mcdonel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Roberts. Roberts avoids the head kick by Mcdonel .

That's four minutes gone in the round. Roberts has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcdonel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mcdonel trying to control the position from guard on top but Roberts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mcdonel wants to pass the guard but Roberts is keeping the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mcdonel passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse Mcdonel dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Roberts darts in trying to clinch and Mcdonel counters with a nice double leg into side control. Roberts won't be happy with that. Roberts is not content to let Mcdonel control the position. Mcdonel is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Roberts's shoulder. That is not cool. Mcdonel decides to stand back up. Mcdonel steps back and let's Roberts get back to his feet. Roberts shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcdonel as he avoids it easily. Mcdonel fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Roberts is out of range. Roberts shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcdonel tries to sprawl out of it but Roberts keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcdonel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Roberts misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jesse Mcdonel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Roberts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roberts tries to clinch up but Mcdonel circles away and keeps his distance. Roberts displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mcdonel . Mcdonel instigates a clinch. Mcdonel is pressed up against the cage. Roberts has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mcdonel down to the mat. Mcdonel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Mcdonel shoots for a takedown but Roberts saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mcdonel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Mcdonel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roberts was well out of range. Poor timing from Mcdonel . Mcdonel lands the left hand. Mcdonel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Roberts.

Roberts misses with a takedown and Mcdonel counters with a right hand to the body. Mcdonel throws a series of punches but Roberts moves out of range. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mcdonel is trying to push Roberts away but Roberts has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Mcdonel is trying to force a seperation but Roberts has the dominant position. Mcdonel jumps guard and drags Roberts to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Mcdonel pushes Roberts off and gets back to his feet.

Mcdonel is in all sorts of trouble here.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Roberts holds on and takes a little breather. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roberts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Roberts is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
