The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakuraba throws a head kick that misses. Caveman pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Sakuraba throws a body kick that misses. A telegraphed right hand from Caveman misses the target. Sakuraba blocks a jab. Nice body punch from Caveman. Kazuushi Sakuraba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Caveman scores with a punch to the head. Sakuraba throws a head kick but Caveman moves out of range.

Sakuraba has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sakuraba is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sakuraba had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Caveman defends it easily. Sakuraba has his foot on Caveman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Caveman works his way back into a safe position though. Sakuraba seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. That was a close round but I would say that Kazuushi Sakuraba will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Belanger is looking to slow Cage down with leg kicks. Nick Cage is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cage misses with a body kick. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joe Belanger. Cage has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Belanger. Cage looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Belanger scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cage in his tracks. Cage gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Belanger counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Belanger tries a head kick but it misses.

Cage has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Belanger.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Belanger lands with a kick to the ribs.
